Some things are just too sad aren't they!
Doran was just now at Fed Square asking young kids who they go for on Saturday. As most of the replies were in the affirmative for Geelong, you could hear his voice getting flatter and flatter each time. Not to mention his barely disguised annoyance. In the end the guy from Luxbet felt sorry for poor old Mark and went for St Kilda, even though he had originally said he thought the cats would win. Well as he said, he had to, for Doran's sake. Pathetic!!!!

Whats wrong with Doran? Just because he is actually articulate, and not an ex-afl bogan like the majority of them, doesnt mean he is crap. I find his program the most insightful of any on SEN, as he actually discusses and analyses ALL sport, and my favourite, he doesnt have that stupid bogan accent like Maher, Fine et al.

I do like his program as he does cover all sports that barely get a run at the station. However, he needs all the guests to come in as he has no clue of the sports.

It's pretty embarssing when a caller phones in when he's by himself and talks about something outside of AFL or cricket.

Doran may cover a lot of sports but his knowledge is generally quite superficial. And he is extremely boring with his flat, monotonous voice.
To say that he is better than most at the station doesn't mean much as most of them are hopeless anyway.
I noticed that he was quite flat at the start of the week and grew increasingly edgy when a lot of the callers were from Geelong. But he has settled down a bit now and is quite adamant that the Cats were too good and that they are a great team. Well, you have to learn to live with it don't you.......eventually.
I'm not sure why Peake is at the station still as his childish and self indulgent outburst last Saturday night was an absolute disgrace. Can't see the value in that wacker!!!

Caller: "Ox, what a great win by the Black Cats last night"
Schwarz: "Yeah.. great.. Wait, did we play?"

Clearly can't get enough.

Did Doran ask "the hard questions" to Wayne Carey? I didn't hear the interview but Doran was going on as if he had an exclusive. What I saw and heard was that the King was doing ther rounds of all the stations. Rember him telling Rita that there were certain questions he had to ask as he wouldn't be worth his salt if he didn't.
Credit to Rita who basically was asking why he was even invited on to the show when he is obviously a liar. She stuck to her guns and didn't think an interview with Carey would show integrity.
Wonder if anyone heard the mouse interviewing the King.

Very good point from Rita. Unfortunately, SEN and the word "integrity" should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

And please don't call Carey the "King". There is nothing regal about the way that half wit carries on.

yeah I did and as much as it pains me to say so, he did ask a few harder questions than most of the other media outlets i've heard carey on recently. mind you he was probably shitting in his pants when he did but credit to him for asking them though.

What does Rita think he's lied about? What actually happened with Kelli Steven's? Cause from the excerpts in the H-S it wouldn't surprise me if he was loose with the truth.

She suggested he was less than truthful and lacking genuine remorse when he appeared on Enough Rope with Denton.
That he was only "coming clean" in his book to obviously make some money for himself and to profit out of other peoples discomfort.

Living in the sticks I have only just become aware of SEN and that I can listen online. Whilst I have enjoyed not listening to the same songs over and over and over again on the usual music stations, I am thinking of going back, at least during 12 - 4pm. Mark Doran is by far my least favourite on the station. I dont know if its just the sound of his voice (he obviously likes it), his arrogance, his sense of self importance, or a combo of the lot but geez I wish they'd move him on. I suppose its the classic case of a when a commentator thinking his opinion matters.

Might have to go back to listening to Britenay, Miley, Jessica and all that wrap crap on Nova.....ahhhh....please help me SEN! Give Dark Moron the boot, or at least a really late shift.

I thought is was a poorly balanced interview.

There was not one question that related directly to Carey's playing of football.

And Ripper Rita criticised Doran for having Carey on his show, but then asked Doran to ask one question on her behalf.

I suppose hypocrisy is part and parcel of being in the media.
