Sharelle obviously gets paid and is professional. Today he has had to back-pedal about his prediction on Geelong winning the flag and nobody else should bother turning up.
I love seeing him eat humble pie.

This is were I feel sorry for the Geelong supporters. Sure there's a few tossers on this forum who support the cats, but so far as being arrogant, I blame the media a lot more than the Geelong players or supporters.

All year the media have crapped on about Geelong being unbeatable favourites, that the other teams shouldn't even bother turning up, etc, and that is why the public get the idea that Geelong are arrogant.

I sent an email to SEN this morning saying they should thank Hawthorn for reminding them there is no such thing as an unbeatable team, especially in a Grand Final.

As for Doran .. what would HE know ... about ANYTHING?

Listened to the first part of his show yesterday and it was revealed he was taking a week off and Harf is stepping up to do The Good Oil. But he had an interesting co-host in Matt Hardy. Hardy basically one-upped him all the time, old Mumbly Double-Chin Ferret didn't know what to say or do.
I remember Matt Hardy from the original Run Home, I think he did it with Dermie and Ox and it was always fairly good. Just Derms ramblings grated a bit.
I reckon Matt Hardy would be the perfect replacement for Doran, he could still use Doran's cronies for parts of the show but also bring his own in that probably would be funnier.
More Hardy Har Har please, let Doran help Tony Schibecci, Matt Granland and Matt Thompson do the live crosses and news updates. Would suit The Ferret sniffing out stories.

Hardy was ok when he was on the run home with Dermie and Huddo. I'm not a big fan of Doran and I agree Hardy would be good, but you would have to question his knowledge on sports.

Hardy left SEN to be part of the BAFTA-winning The Sketch Show writing team for ITV in the UK, and subsequently wrote for Kelsey Grammer's sketch series on FOX in the US.

As for Matt Thompson, well enough said. :o

That was the time I really enjoyed listening to SEN, when those three were on. I'm not the greatest Huddo fan, but he did the job of host very well, Dermie can tend to be a little verbose at times, but always gave you something to think about, and Matt Hardy kept the show fresh with his sense of humour and limited knowledge of sport. 1,000,000 times better that the two idiots that are on there now. I'm tired of Leach's arrogance and Ox just rattling off anything that pops into his feeble brain.

For some unknown reason, SEN has decided to opt for on air "talent" being arrogant and annoying rather than informative and entertaining.
 
How good has this week been? Well done Harf and SEN for getting rid of the fool for at least a week.
 
Get Ox to ring Vito and lets do the business. I will send a bunch of flowers to Ferrets boyfriend with a sympathy card.
Like the Morans in Underbelly when Alphonse was gunned down.
 
I think he is back today. I read in another thread that Dr Turf should do Ferrets program. I am not sure Turfy would be good for a full 4 hours, he would be better than Ferret but an hour of Turfy is enough.

Yep to me, Harford is the obvious choice. He is a cocky prick but he is quite professional and has at least played sport at the highest level. He has credibility.
I am not saying you have to have played sport at the highest level to have credibility, but if you are a journo and you use the line "I am a paid-up card carrying member of the media" all the time then you have no cred at all.
I don't know about other people but radio particularly talkback/talk needs to be entertaining. Doran is boring, he is snoozeworthy.
He also is nasty and arrogant to callers that have made the effort to call his program. Remember these shows rely heavily on caller interaction to make the show entertaining. Most of the callers are bozo's but that is what makes it entertaining half the time.
Treat the listeners with respect SEN and sack this clown.
 
Wish I came across this thread earlier.

I don't have access to the SEN live stream since July so I haven't had to listen to him lately which has been good.

I'll never forget the caller that rang in during the lead up of the FA Cup and the final week of EPL he praised how Fulham had got themselves out of the relegation zone when they were practically gone. Fulham were to play Portsmouth on the last day and it was likely Portsmouth would field a weakened lineup to prepare for the FA Cup final.

Doran's response... That's the beauty of the FA Cup isn't it? The fact you can still win some silverware despite maybe getting relegated.
 
He made the ludicrous comment after the 4th day in the 1st test in India that Australia didn't bat on long enough and that India were capable of winning that test.
If anyone remembers the test it was a battle to survive on that pitch, Australia were nearly 400 in front and he wanted to bat on. Australia didn't have enough time to bowl out the Indians as it was. India however couldn't score.
At least get some idea Ferret. Something you must have a little bit of a clue about, give us something useful.

They actually only set India 299 to win.

Maybe check your own facts first.

He mentioned India were capable of winning the 1st test. Now isn't that part of the calculations for declaring? You want a decent total to defend, enough time to get the wickets but also give the opposition a small belief they can chase the total down so they play their shots and increase the chances of getting out.

The point was, that India were never going to make the runs, whether it was 230-290 or 400 runs in front. The wicket at Bengaluru (bangalore) was too hard to score on.
 
He finished his show today by saying "Make sure you get on the quinella of Samantha Miss and Princess Coup".

Way to go out on a limb there Ferret.
 
Went off him a couple of years ago whe he said teams would be disappointed if they didnt beat hawthorn by 10 goals.

That you don't know he's a Saints supporter is a positive for him as a broadcaster I would think. In any case if he made that statement when you were tanking like mad it was probably pretty reasonable.
