I think the "powers that be" at SEN actually prefers smug ignorance ... just look at the other tossers they employ.

We all know that the public would prefer a more genial host, but for some reason radio stations are still living the John Laws days of arrogance towards its' listeners. This crap is no longer acceptable, but radio stations haven't worked it out yet.
 
Just a terrible broadcaster, a terrible bloke, fat , bespectacled, uninformed, opinionated, arrogant, rude, unlikeable.
In short, get off the airwaves you fat tool.

Since SEN's inception in 2004...Mark Doran has had a total of 10 different producers for his respective programmes.

That is an average of 6 months per producer. People can't work with him....it drives them insane. He treats his co-workers like shit and is the most hated person internally at SEN.

How does he keep the job? Seriously.

I don't think I've heard anyone say anything other than scathing criticism of him as a bloke and a radio host.
 
That last post doesn't bother me. It's the photo being quoted, combined with the signature that's a worry.
 
Speaking to Ian Baker Finch at the start of the program, went into this long ramble on how his putting was so good. How he could close his eyes and still be able to know the line to putt, blah blah something about an outter body experience.

Then IBF pulls him up. "No it was the hitting"

That was a frighteningly awkward interview - lots of long pauses where i imagine IBF was asking himself if he really HAD been asked that question. Like Doran asking him how many shots he won the British Open by - heres a novel idea for you Mark: if you are going to be interviewing a former sporting star, do some RESEARCH!

Snoran just doesn't do golf. Totally ignores it.

From an inside source at SEN:

  1. Doran knows little about any sport, except footy. And he doesn't have any interest in other sports.
  2. The little he knows about footy comes from his researchers. The "clever" insight and information he gives out during his quiz is all researched for him.
  3. He spends most of his time bagging the researchers, most of whom volunteer for the job. Therefore, there is a constant turnover of researchers, all of whom hate him.



And he's a boring little ****.

Seriously, fair enough you can't be expected to know everything about everything and that is why you treat a good researcher with the greatest of respect.

A bit like a boss and the PA/secretary.
 
look, i've just had a thought. i'm responsible for paying out on doran on this thread before but now it's just turning into a complete feeding frenzy, i think if he read this then he'd end up in a padded cell with all the hate that's in here.
i'm going in to listen with fresh ears tomorrow (i listen every day but thats beside the point).
maybe we've all just jumped on the hate train without really thinking about it and he's copping a raw deal.
i'm not related and you'll see by my other posts that he's pissed me off before but i'm prepared to give him 1 more go.
i just cant believe 1 man can be so bad and still have his job.
doran, don't let me down.

Are you joking? He is terrible, he has had too many goes. He should have been pulled from the airwaves a month after SEN started. He is the kind of rat that drags the ratings down for SEN. I am sure the afternoon ratings would go up if their was no Maxie.

Because he is cheap, where else are they going to get a blonk that will do 4 hours of radio for $10/hour? They would read these forums and know that The King Of The Poo People is detested, but they are a little shifty because they know also that we listen to the cretin so that we can report on his yukkiness. As reported earlier he is like a car crash that you just cannot take your eyes off, but know something horrible is about to happen.
They think it is a backhanded compliment to be hated like TKOTPP and believe as he is so cheap that he is a blue chip investment in SEN's future.

I've done this. Multiple times. And I can tell you the barrel is emptier than you think. In life, some people just rub you the wrong way and irritate you every time they speak.

When I listen to him, my mind just ticks over with thoughts of how I hate every little thing he says and how he says it. Everything is monotone with no breaks between sentences, and when he finally has to engage his brain, its like he's pulling the cord on an old mower, because it sounds like "um... um... um...".

I thought it was just me, but in the bigfooty world seems every hates him just as much as me. My wife even complains about him when she drives the car after I've been in and changed the radio to 1116.

i tried it today and i nearly drove my car off the rosebud pier in frustration. he gets matt thompson to give us the news of the day and then he ****ing craps on for what seemd like an eternity about the high profile afl player who has a gambling proble "the afl have a right to know" in between umms and ahhhs and repeating the same sentence 3 or 4 times and going around in circles. after about 3 minutes of this inane shit he stops and even matt thompson said something like "okay right *long pause* anyway onto other news". you could tell he thought to himself "when is this ****stick going to stop crapping on and let me get on with it?"
what a dill, i turned it over.
 
You guys have no idea how much some of the other broadcasters/producers and former broadcasters/producers at SEN hate this guy. He is polarising to the point of insanity.
 
If he is rating 2.3 per day, how many of that 2.3 are posters from this thread waiting for the next brain explosion from this cringeworthy, patronising ******** moron? Maybe his improvement can be solely attributed to this thread. We're feeding this idiot's ego.

I know from first hand information that a certain broadcaster cannot stand a certain two Marks who work at SEN. One of the Marks had an argument with his producer a few months ago, and he ended up getting so fired up and pissed off at his producer that he punched a hole through a wall behind the producer's desk.
