Just curious to see what people on here think about him? He has his moments where I can feel his hatred towards us but he seems to hold back at times. After Round 2, he suggested Collingwood's away strip be changed to black and pink because they appeared to be as beatable as Black Caviar, quite funny. Thoughts on him?

He is a wierd human thats for sure. You never know what he will say v ery incosistant. It all depends on his mood if he is angry, then it will be a shit few houres listening to him. I dont really like him.

I have to say that I respect, identify with and enjoy Finey's mostly impartial and honest opinions. He is one of the few sports commentators who takes a fairly commonplace point-of-view when assessing all things football and so I feel speaks to many supporters; particularly in regards to practical annoyances such as suspensions, trades etc. Doesn't get too wrapped up in himself and pontificating about the sport, but rather is fairly logical and not as stubborn as many other talkback hosts.

I don't find him too biased either - all in all, I'm a fan!

He is different to almost all talk show hosts and just football people in the media period. There really is nothing better to listen to on talk back radio than when Finey gets stuck into some drop kick calling in.

I actually quite enjoy him. Gets fired up and pretty passionate. I find him better than Andy Maher.

I find him better than Andy Maher.

Two weeks ago, I was bashed unconscious by a homeless man and dragged to his hovel in a deserted train station. There, I was forced to lie atop a pile of garbage as he repeatedly violated me, all the while singing Justin Bieber songs. I managed to escape the next day, but I will never forget his little brown teeth, his mangy hair or his putrid stench.

Still, I find him better than Andy Maher.

Really I've always thought he was one of the most stubborn talkback host's on radio! When he makes his mind up about something he sticks to it with what I'd almost term fanaticism.

I can remember his thought's on the hands in the back rule when it was first introduced, it got to the point where he may have wanted to or even did take KB on in an on-air debate over it, such was his stubbornness on the topic.

Having said that I really do enjoy his show's! Ultimately what endears me most about him is when he get's frustrated with some of the flogs that call up. It's far more entertaining when he let's them have their say and then ends up talking all over them like they're children, than it is when they're simply cut off like most other hosts do.

hahaha:):thumbsu:

I like him, good host, and as others have noted he refreshingly tells it like it is and i do love a good lashing out on a caller or a texter and calling them "weak" when they text in abuse but won't call up.

Makes my late uni finishes bearable driving home.

I appreciate that you took the time to think of that scenario, or in the event that it didn't take imagination, I appreciate that you're comfortable enough here to share that with us.

Passionate man. I love getting into my car after the footy and especially after a win and hear him singing the praises of our club and individual players.. *more fists pumps.. "Ben Reid, yep he's a beauty" etc etc

Absolute Flog.

Simpleton of the highest order.

Occasionally tune in to make sure I haven't judged him harshly, 5 minutes later I turn him off knowing I was right. ;)

I started the same thread when Finey was starting out years ago and found I was ambivalent about him. But TRS straightened me out. I really like him now, pretty fair in spite of his teams awful demise. Almost the best non-football commentator for me.

I knew there was a reason I wanted to marry you.

Maher, next to Andrew Gaze, is almost the most grating radio personality commentating on football. Stephen J Peake has that positon stitched up.

Drew Morphett is a consistent threat.

Thanks you blokes, I appreciate the support. It's not the first unkosher rogering I've had in my time though, I'm afraid.

The worst was when I was 8, and was invited by our local man of the cloth to inspect his cellar. It was more of a damp den, really. He tied me to a large wooden cross, and proceeded to pull out all my fingernails with a pair of pliers before burning me all over with a menthol cigarette. He then repeatedly violated me, all the while singing Justin Bieber songs (which was odd, given this was 20 years ago). Then when he was done, he told me that he had to think of a different little boy just to get it up - that was the bit that hurt the most.

Still, I found him better than Andy Maher.
