Cloke won't go so where is this money coming from??we don't need either.has jamar ever played in a premiership winning side??jolls has played in 2.

Sandilands hasn't played in a premiership but Mark Blake has. I know who I'd prefer.

Kosi would be a great fit can take a contested grab and make a contest at worse in the ruck.

i made enquiries on the north board regarding goldstein.

they advised he's currently signed for several years.

try this on for size..........

if cloke is determined to go, see if north want him, in exchange for goldstein, plus their 1st 2 draft picks. cloke cant damage us by north becoming a contender, we get the medium term ruck we need, and the pressure is off the cap.

thoughts ?

(maybe this should go in the random thoughts thread)

I have a question. If jolly did decide to retire at end of year, we would have to pay him last year of his contact.

Now my question is would we have to include this in out cap? i assume we would but what would happen if a player had to retire due to injury, like say Blake caracella. Would this also be included in cap as i think that is a little unfair. Anyone shed any light on this?

My whole point is if Jolly starts to massively decline, we give him the tap and get a jamar with his salary if we can do that

Doubt Kosi would leave the Saints when they have Stuck by him

They have a huge cap squeeze and he is the most dispensable player of their 'nominated stars'.

If he does stay, he'll be on shitty money

No thanks Kosi is a useless uncoordinated hack

pass with ease

You serious? Watch the 2010 GF Draw. Kosi in the 2nd half after Gardiner went down is one of the reasons we had to go back the following week.

Kosi is a poor mans Drew Petrie and a rich mans Leigh Brown. I'd take him in a heartbeat. (no disrespect to Leroy, I love the bloke and want to keep my soul!)

I'm not 100% on this however I think if a player retires before their contract is finished they are the ones that are not meeting the terms of the contract length and therefore we would not need to pay that out. Is obviously different if we delist, potentially could also be different if it is retirement due to injury that was caused by playing too.

Either way I don't think that Jolly will retire. He may play a lesser role and be ruck depth however I think that he will definitely continue and I hope can still have a big impact.

no we wouldnt have to pay him out. If he quits then he is no longer under contract and the contract from there on out is voided and he cant claim anything. The club can however ask him to retire and pay him out but this would come under the following years salary cap.

Thanks. We could try and get him to retire and pay him the wage he is missing as a ruck coach. Surely this is above board. Dodgy but above board.

Anyway this is all hypothetical as he may have a great finish to the season and go on next year.

Dont care he hasn't done nothing for years

Lucky to even get a game still

Found this article though Google: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/mor...s-stocks-soaring/story-e6frf9jf-1226350395331 (won't work if you click on it)

It says Collingwood is on the look out for a ruckman is his mid 20s (as if Hawthorn). It mentions Trent West, Will Minson, Warnock and Jamar (though Minson and Jamar are a bit older).

Question : What is the difference between someone who posts on Bigfooty and Mark Stevens?

Answer : One gets big money for taking 5 minutes to write something about footy...

Haha I like the double negative you threw in there!

I take it you missed Satdy nights match anyway? Because he tore the Hawks a new one and outside of Franklin was the dominant big man on the ground.

This century Collingwood have had one season where we have had an elite output from a ruck, 2010.

This century Collingwood has won one flag, 2010.

Get a good ruck FFS!

If we had the cap space I would take Jaimer in an instant. I'm firmly in the camp of recruiting/trading for a mature aged established ruckman rather than drafting and waiting five years and hoping of for the best. You can't win the flag without a strong competitive ruck but the good news is that there are quite a lot of them in the comp at the moment who could be available in coming seasons due to last seasons change of interchange rules. We should be basically trying to copy what Sydney do who have managed rucks better than anyone this past decade.

Jamar would be ok as a stop gap, not totally against it, Warnock lacks physical presence but is a good tap ruckman like Wood, dont really need 2 of them on the list.

Trent West is the one i would go for, he has Maric like qualities for mine, and we are seeing Richmond's faith and confidence in a previously shunned player bear fruit.

Minson also i would be ok with, can have brain fades at times but has really improved this year, is dangerous as a resting forward and his best footy should be ahead of him.

The question is can Jolly go through a finals series this year and next year as no1 ruck and not be a liability? As great as he has been for us this is a serious possibility against some of the better ruck combinations in the game.

No chance to get Jamar I wouldn't think.

I'd go for Kosi as well for the 2nd ruck option with Jolly. And may have a chance there if all the paper talk is correct re the Saints cap issues.

I don't mind Kozi, I think our gameplan will suit him more with the quicker ball movement rather than the slow movement from Stkilda which is never gonna help key forwards unless they move up the group like Reiwoldt and also Kozi can help out in the ruck.
