Apart from Scotty, he was arguably best on ground against Adelaide, but you're right he is struggling at the moment. Give him a spell in the two's let him remember what it's like to dominate again, then bring him back in. Is still a valuable player
I think there can still be a role for him buts it's not in defence.
The modern game requires you to be able to run and attack from defence and I don't think he can do it - doesn't have the pace or the kicking skills.
The past few games he has been exposed for pace so coaches are getting smarter and isolating him on the lead.
I think he can rotate up forward, wing and on ball and give us some value.

He just doesnt have it anymore. He is too slow and his disposals are below par. He has escaped criticism so far this year. He deserves to be dropped if he doesnt play well this week.
Why wait, lets drop him now and get a look at some of the kids coming through. He can come back when he gets some form and confidence

No need to drop him, plenty of players who have been performing worse than MJ.

But more players playing better. The only ones that have had worse years than MJ IMO are Monfries (who will keep his spot), Bolton, Laycock, Bradley and NLM (who has only played 1 game)

Thats a fair list though which is concerning as we cant afford to carry any players like West Coast.

I'd love for MJ to play up forward permanently, would do him wonders IMO. Bring Cole in for some run out of defence, I have faith in him, if he struggles stick with him at least until Nash can come in.

Bolton, Laycock and Bradley are not in our best 22 though, they are only there due to injuries.

Still having depth in your list is a must. Rarely does a team have no injury concerns.

Houli, Lonergan, Hocking, Hislop (when not booked), Danny Chartres.. any more on the list before Cole?

All (bar Chartres) are midfielders/on-ballers. Attack is certainly required from defense. I saw Cole against Sandy and he stank! We need NLM before Cole and we need a Houli/Hislop/Reimers to come in and have a crack. Heath Hocking I'd love to see as a HF option like a Chapman...Heath is playing as a midfield/hf and can really present well and is a good contested mark. With him and Froggy in the forward line, there's the defensive pressure on the opposition backmen. Then either H/H/R into the midfield rotations to add some fresh legs and passion.....

Try reading it context, Houli, Lonergan and Hislop are all close to selection and will play in due course.
are you serious? you dont think he has it anymore? he has had a bad start to the year but he was awesome last year... its a lot like JJ last year.. started poorly ended strong.... he just needs one good game and he will find his form again.... dropping him to bendigo could be good only to get the message to the younger blokes.. for any other reason i wouldnt drop him
