Proud of the way Lids responded to McClure. McClure said after our win that their was no way we had as much talent as Port on our list, and our list was no where as skilled, we won through grit. Delidio straight away said he disagreed, and we have a go every week. Well said Brett.
As a side note, McClure then went on to say he felt Cotchin is a future brownlow medallist and B and F winner. Flogbag.

Heard that.

Agree Maclure is an idiot. Ditto Drew Morphett who early in the final quarter said we don't know how to win. Suck on this Drew baby !!!
I can't remember if it was Morphett that also said in the interview that we have some winnable games coming up, then wrote us off against the saints while talking to Lids, amazing journalism.

Indulge me for a few paragraphs at how I recall a story when I was a young fella.
I was 9, we had a footy clinic at Mooroopna. It was rainign all day and we were forced indoors to do a few drills. Was soooo disappointed.
Heaps of VFL players were there.
After the clinbic we were let loose to chase autographs and chat to our heroes.
One of the first players who was free was Mark McLure. I approached him and asked for an autograph in my book. He said 'Piss off Richmond supporter.'
I kid you not and I am not exaggerating at all.
I was shattered.
I plucked up the courage to approach RObert Wiley. He smiled, put his hand on my shoulder and then go down on his haunches so he could look me in the eye when I talked to him. Pure gentleman.
Kids remember that sort of stuff.
No surprises at to why I hate McLure and Carlton.

People need to not underestimate Deledio v Cotchin ability. IMO when we are up and running Lids will be the one recieving the brownlow votes...

Mate, that is no surprise. It is evident when he calls our games, his hatred runs deep.

:thumbsu: to Lids. He showed plenty of spunk to throw it back at McClure when he claimed our list wasn't nearly as talented as Port. Lids then threw it back at Drew when he suggested we were no chance against the Saints next week. Liking what I'm hearing from Lids, that's what I call leadership

Absolutely shocked McClure picked us to win. When asked to sum up, instead of praising us, he gave Port the biggest bagging of all time. He made the usual dismissive judgment on Nason - too small etc. He's a very poor "special comments" commentator. Beats me how he has managed to get that gig for last 6-7 years on ABC Radio. Budget must be pretty tight:confused:

i heard it as well. Real confidence in lids voice when he said that. Nothing really wrong wit mcclures comments we did lose 9 straight so port were expected to win. His comments about tc was spot on. He'll be the best player of my gen to play for us. That includes richo, weightman, rioli, roach.......... And to think martin isn't far behind. .... No a side note I like that maurice has had another son :) 7 years old at the moment and cotch and dc would be still playing when we get him :)

Thanks for the link. Lids sounded so happy.

That's so rude telling Lids that RFC doesnt have a better list than Port. Good reply from Lids.

Weird way of putting this:

Jack Riewoldt led the way for the visitors,.....He kicked four goals, including more in the first half than the entire Power side
Port kicked 3 for the match, so Jack's four was more than Port for the whole game not just the first half.

Honestly, I'm not going to pump up our list too much... but if there is another team our list might compare favourably against, it's Port.

Bunch of Punt Road rejects.

We're better.

And people said Deledio wanted to leave. Just in that first and most raw comment you could hear his passion for the yellow and black.

Couldn;t care less about McClure's question.

All of Deledio's comments are outstanding.

:thumbsu:WILL be a three time b&f winner by season's end.
Playing far better than last season when he was a bit of a default winner.
By that I mean, we were poor across the board and someone had to win it.
But he is playing better than at any time in his career right now!
Great games by Cotchin and Martin, Jack's continued good form and the input of Astbury and Griffiths has me thinking everything will be fine down the track.
