Gold.

Just goes to show the media have as much idea as a piece of whitening dog **** on an empty pavement in Broadmeadows.

So I take it your happy with level of sporting journalism in this country and in particular Melbourne and its daily 'truth' rag, the Herald Sun.

You're content with a journalist who can run on a major news item with little too no credible sources/ to back up his claim and then expect the public to believe it. Talking to a few people over a beer or 2 who claim to know something, does not constitute hard hitting journalism, but robbo has never been found guilty of that anyhow. This attempt to get a headline at any cost is typical of him and his employer, the Herald Sun

Richmond, rightly or wrongly, are seen as a soft and easy target by the Sun and they know that it ...well RFC, show some balls and demand an apology from the parasite that wrote it and the paper that served it up as truth.C'mmon March and co get on the bloody phone and demand a written apology, fresh for tomorrow's serve.....

True well said he's a fat mouthed twit, hovering at the bottom rung of journalism.
I'm leaving now.

I lost 2 hours of work time today with all the emails, texts and phone calls I was getting about Wallace being axed.

Mark it down, May 19 - Sports journalisms darkest day.

The whole thing is suspect. At least Robbo will come on and defend himself even if it is spin, whereas the Cameron simply refused to clarify anything. Also, SEN said SKY and News Of the World posted the sacking news before the HUN

In Robbo's last few articles he has gone in to bat for the tigers over the last few weeks.

He would only have run with the sacking story if he was given the info from a legit source. Lets just remember that he said himself that he got the info from someone in the club........Robbo writes Ben Cousin's weekly
article in the Herald Sun.

Could not be beyond the realms of posibillity that the sacking was on the cards and maybe it went to Robbo first and he wanted to break the story first.

I agree that he should have confirmed first before going to print....but thats how all these w***ers opperate. They print first and hope its right later.

Just my thoughts...

Cheers

Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

Let me start off by saying - I don't like Richmond, however the treatment that the RFC and Terry Wallace got today from the Herald Sun was nothing short of slanderous.

If players, coaches or clubs do wrong the media (especially the HS) scream from the rooftops that people should be sacked, they hound them until a team takes action and when they do - it's still not enough. In this day and age of internet and email, news websites are forgetting the age old step of checking their facts before running a story and if there was anything fishy in it, the story would be pulled. Now big noting reporters who've achieved nothing in life bar a job as a reporter can now print what they want no matter what the consequences, what if someone ends up doing something drastic as a result of the insatiable, blood thirsty reporting of the media? Will that make people wake up?

I ask all Richmond fans (and all football supporters, as your team could be next) to start bombarding the Herald Sun with letters and emails to the editor demanding that Mark Robinson and Tony Sheahan get sacked, the same way they hound coaches and football clubs. That reporters can now make the news, even though it's wrong and report it as fact is rubbish. Footy fans need to make a stand and say "enough's enough!", we've had enough rubbish from reporters who'll print anything and never name their sources - there's probably a good reason why these sources are never named, because it's made up!

Put the pressure on the Herald Sun to sack Mark Robinson and stop buying the paper and see how much Robbo's bosses will put up with it. Don't rest until there is a retraction or even better affirmative action. Give Robbo hell on his piss weak blogs and whenever he's on radio - ask him to name his sources and tell him that crap reporting will no longer be tolerated. Write to and ring Ch.7 and tell them you won't watch the Sunday football program until he's gone. Make this blokes life hell like he has no problem doing to others.

Richmond supporters are great at rallying for a cause, stand up for your club and stick it to the media and these gutless reporters - make Mark Robinson the first example and watch them pull their heads in!

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

I just don't like the idea of taking a guys head who has no spine to carry one with.

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

I totally agree, stuff those reporters especially damian barrett, lets see what the fool has to write this week.

they r all tools:mad:

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

personally i feel at 1-7 in a season where we expected to be at a minimum pushing for 8 , what gets reported should be the least of our concerns

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

So Journalists should wait until the club releases a press statement before writing an article lol Yea, clubs always tell the truth. Who's to say the club didn't change it's mind after gaging the public opinion on the leak?

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

I won't be calling for his head. He deserves to write for the Herald-Sun. They are a perfect fit. Lazy and inaccurate tabloid rubbish.

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

I'd like the club to lead from the front on this. Would love to see a player like Richo, Newman or Cousins rip into a few of these hacks. If they don't it just keeps feeding on itself. Sheahan has a new article up on the website that just continues with the rumour and lies.

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

I'd boycott the Herald Sun but we cant buy it here in Qld anyhow....lucky us

Re: Why aren't Tigers supporters calling for mark Robinson's head?

Could probably go down as libel.

Simple: He's a journo, we are a football club. It should be water off a duck's back.
Just because you have a beef with Robinson, doesn't mean all RFC supporters have.

I was going to tell you not to 'shoot the messenger' (Robbo) and then to piss off.
But then I would be contradicting myself. Wouldn't I?
Just like a Collingwood supporter pretending to care about the interests of Richmond supporters.

Duh!!!

Funny how Robinson...

doesn't mention his own role in the events of yesterday in his article today.

FIRST came the post-match spray from a frustrated Terry Wallace. Then came the emergency talks on Monday between Wallace, Richmond captain Chris Newman and, later, between Wallace, president Gary March and football boss Craig Cameron.
And finally, the crisis meeting Tuesday between Wallace, March, Cameron and more than 12 senior players.
That was the 36-hour firestorm Wallace endured.

Ah, you missed the bit about how you falsely reported that he was sacked and the rest of the media followed your lead.

The past 36 hours have been full of half-truths, explanations, meetings, denials and, at one stage, an overwhelming belief that Wallace had coached his last game for the Richmond Football Club.

Oh, I stand corrected. He does talk about himself.

Duh!!!

I have a beef with the media full stop regarding their badgering of people in football, if you blokes don't care if the media is hounding your club to death then why should I.

My post was genuine and I can see the same thing happenning at Collingwood. In future I'll let Richmond supporters fight their own battles but it looks like Kane Pettifer is more likely to cop a Richmond's supporters wrath than ill informed, trigger happy reporters.

Maybe you end up with the media coverage you deserve.

get with the f..kin programme Ranger ...

I don`t give a flyin f..k whether he got it right or wrong or not ... the point is what he reported and what was obviously leaked ...should have been the way it played out except our spineless club failed to act on what was an absolute f..kin travesty of sanity .

Wallace should be gone ... simple .

But our charade of idiocy continues ... and we will all be expected to buy memberships next year .

Stop laying blame on journos and look where the bullshit is really piling up
