If we got Seaby and Vickery was still available at pick 8 and deemed the best available, I'd still pick him up. We would not have to worry about rucks for a long time and it would mean we can focus on forwards and inside mids from now on. Kill one list hole at a time.

i wouldn't mind getting him, he's 24 so he's not exactly old. he's a good size and wins hit-outs. That article in the Australian says we will offer our 2 rounder. the eagles will demand a better deal than Richmond's second-round draft selection. The thing is we've all seen him play good footy when he's had the chance but that rarely comes around because we use Cox so much. We don't want to see Seaby's AFL career die just because he can't get in front of Cox so most of us are happy to see him traded to a team where he can play. Naturally, we want a good deal too but we're not the kind of club which blatantly shafts another, so I wouldn’t be concerned there.

I remember the pundits saying Seaby was going to become the best Ruckman in the comp before Cox (who is tbrIC) overtook him. Even then I remember him playing a blinder in a finals game. If our recruiters are chasing him they are on the right track but please as someone said earlier: Seaby and pick 36 for our pick 26 (and Jon if we are forced to). Seaby is very underrated. I wouldnt be surprised if we asked for something more just because ruckman especially young, premiership ruckman in their prime are very rare. But the deal above would satisfy me

I think Prem 87 is close to about right. Both teams are picking up players with that nasty word "Potential" and filling needs on there list I guess.

WCE could do with a bit of speed of there HB line and I think Wirra would be good for JON. I dont want to see JON go but I think he hasnt settled all that well here and going home may be the only way he will get the best out of himself.

Pick 26 isnt gonna be enough on its own. Trade a uber dud to i dunno.... Fremantle and get us there pick 21. Get us Farren Ray or Andrew Lovett (if we want him that is).

That said i still think we will only get a late 3rd rounder folr him..Even though i believe hes worth atleast a 2nd rounder.

Of course you say that but they will come around once there are no better offers and 26 would be accepted. Having said that we are probably overpaying in that case he was woeful this year in a side that finished 15th he was dropped at a ruckmans "prime age" far from increasing his market value which would have been R2 last year.

I say 42 amd if we need to throw in JON if they want him then they can have it or then we just dont do it.

your right...
in the end west coast are going to want to get at least something for him if he has decided to leave...
but then i don't think he will get to richmond in the PSD with carton, port and melbourne alll most likely after ruckmen
