You're funny aren't you

How about you watch the 2005 and 2006 GF's. He cost the eagles the 2005 GF and played about 7 mins in the 2006 since he was not trusted.

You do not give up early picks for someone who will be our third ruckman. It also makes little sense in signing Graham if we pick him up.

Its called depth

Seabys been in Cox's shadow his whole career. Watch some games when Cox was injured. Seaby covered for him no problem.

How hard would it be to get into a game when you play 30% of it?

If we get Seaby that would enable us to get one of Hartlett/Sidebottom/Ziebell. I dont understand your post.
i was refering to vickery over seaby.
but if we skip him in trade week, and vickery gone already in the draft then we could get one of those

If we don't get a ruckman in trade week and Vickery gets picked early, we're completely screwed if Simmo gets injured.

If you watched the U-18 champs then you would have noticed a few reasonable prospects from interstate playing in the ruck. Rather those with latter picks than using up 26. We've just re-signed Graham and have Patto as a back up if Simmo goes down. I am not sure what is happening with Cartledge either.

Seaby cannot be that good if WC are happy to part with him. That is the bottom line. Cox cannot ruck on his own, so why hasn't he been playing with the firsts if he is that valuable? Do we keep our best 24 year olds playing in the magoos? I do not think so!

Seaby wants to leave. WC aren't "happy to part with him".

Seaby's been a back up his whole career but I'll get to that later. First have a look at some other ruckmans career averages.

So, at worst, you're getting a little better than Pattison and at best you're getting a guy comparable to Hille, Lade and that crew.

Thats the thing Richmond have plenty of his types.

He is not worth a pick in the twentys for Richmond. Infact I really do not know why we are looking at him at all, other than we may offload Pattison?? or something just as silly.

That said he may be worth a pick in the 20's for possibly Carlton if they don't nail Warnock, Saints, Melb etc

Seaby will be a great pick-up. Period.

He is no dud, if you think so, you obviosuly havnt seen him take the #1 ruck mantle.

Of course they are!

If they did not play him this year, he has become a list clogger for them. They would never say this as that would decrease his value immensely. They are just trying to beat up his value! Don't believe the propaganda.

if the wce thought of him as a list clogger then why are they asking for a 1st rounder for him?
seabs for 26? done for mine. We are obviously going after nic nat. I lol'd at the asking price for poor ol seabs.

Beautifully said by mightytiges in OER:

JON for Seaby then lol.

Seriously good clubs put their faith in draft after draft. They don't give up top 30 picks for temporary measures. If we want a temporary measure in the ruck then we might as well keep Cartledge. At least he wouldn't cost us a decent pick. Then you trade for that extra pick anyway and pick up 3 top 30 kids instead of 2. Good clubs cop the short term pain for long-term gain and success. The Eagles would be laughing ending up with 10 picks inside the top 26 in the space of two years after winning a flag while Richmond ends up with just 1 pick inside the top 40 if other trades aren't done to replace pick 26. Spot the club that knows and understands how to rebuild their list .

It's these kind of trades if they go through which keep Richmond in mediocre-land. It's ironic too. We gave up pick 17 in the 2001 superdraft for Stafford because we were desperate for a ruckman. Are we going to stuff up another superdraft in 2008 for the similar reasons?! .

The answer is obvious. They want to get as high a choice as possible! Why can't he get game time in the firsts? Even with Cox injured. Please explain that SS_Fury. At 24 he is not going to improve that much more. He may get the tap but is useless around the ground. We already have those types in our reserves.

i think seaby is better than any of your ruckman, except simmonds- he is also 24 so i would consider him a long term options. Again it depends on price for your mob

edit: seaby was the no.1 ruck for west perth AHEAD of warnock, yet the blues are offering pick 24 straight up. To me, we used cox so much and are obviously looking to draft nic nat- hence im happy for seaby to go on the cheap. But i dont control these things, so we will see i guess.

Who says he's useless around the ground?
Have you seen his stats? Have you seen him play?
Pretty good for a bloke that spends 60% game time on the bench and about 5% at full-forward.
I dont know if these are your opinions or someone elses, but they are entirely false.

I have seen him play. I don't rate him at all. Neither do the Eagles as he couldn't get a game in a team with an injured ruckman that was languishing near the bottom of the ladder.

If you say he is so good, please explain that! I have posed the question several times and nobody has answered it properly!
