More than anything, it is your posts that are making me feel good about the deal & that we have landed a very good player, I am looking forward to seeing him in red & black.

I'm not happy, we should have kept pick 16, I feel this is going to be another Cupido like mistake.

Cupido wasn't drafted. He was a trade for Caracella who we had to get rid of due to salary cap problems.

Hawthorn will still be shit next season IMO, even with Burgoyne and Gibson..

Gibson is an overrated defender.. Gets nearly the most goals kicked on him every year.. Not much I can say about Burgoyne but.

He doesn't need to be a star.
He cost us an 8 pick downgrade (16-24), whilst helping to secure a pick upgrade in addtition to Nash (42-33), whom by all reports was going to be delisted anyway.

(Doesn't mean he won't be though )

It's basically Nash for Williams. The draft pick switches equal each other. We move out from pick 16 to 24 but improve pick 42 to 33. Considering Nash has done nothing of late it can only be a plus for the club in 2010.

love the trade. i've always liked williams. dermie has always blown his load talking up williams speed off the mark, and kicking for goal.

i see it that it's better to have williams playing for us (he wants to, apparently) than lovett (who didn't want to, apparently). gives us an extra goalkicking option in our forward line.

can't see this as anything but postive.
