Barack Hussein Obama reckons he has an unfortunate name

Great news :thumbsu:

Exactly. We don't want to give them any relevance.

That sounds like the type of marketing slogan the Australian Democrats would use.

Relax guys - it was meant to be a joke.

I think we did make some mistakes early on and in a completely different market from the SANFL those mistakes come back to bite you. We are still between a rock and a hard place - our 'tradition' position will only appeal to the converted (who are diminishing), but the AFL market is so much wider than that, so that is where we need to infiltrate - that is why some of the new image has to be used in any marketing strategy.

I believe the success of clubs and gaining supporters is the history.

People love winners and triers that give all.

To me that is Port Adelaide.

I don't care what the anti Port/SANFL purists believe but PAFC evolved from SANFL to AFL, we are the club and always will be.

Our history should be highlighted and stressed as this will draw respect from other supporters and future new ones. Every supporters from all states respect Port Adelaide.

if it alienaites supporters so be it, that will happen, that's sport, but it will maintain the ones we have now and through success drive more. Every win will convert another 6 year old into admiring and then support Port.

We need to maintain the faith. If not, we may as well give up on a 2nd SA AFL license and just have SA has 100% crow zombie land. How boring.

But saying this part of the problem lays with the SNFL creating a Port Magpies after we were created. it has shrouded the club with uncertainty and ridicule about who the real Port Adelaide is.

Realistically the SANFL PAMFC should have been something else and a pure shift away from PAFC and then alot of our problems wouldn't exist!

Agree FF. JJ as CEO is not the marketing dept. ...

Well he certainly wasn't the girl that phoned up and asked me if I wanted to buy tickets for the Port Adelaide Crows lottery or whatever it was.

...Maybe our slogan should be "The Team for the Rest of South Australia":D
Or the club representing the SANFL clubs rather than the SANFL itself.
After all apparently SANFL clubs weren't good enough to go in it alone. How the Bulldogs, St Kilda and co were supposedly better than say Port or Norwood beats me.
