- we did have a strong logo, but it did look dated. i would have no issue with refreshing the logo, but keep it looking the same. the change we got was just too much.

- there should be a recognition scheme for long term members. say a small prize like a hat or scarf after each 5 years of membership

- one thing i think we do excellently - the vic membership includes access to all melbourne games (excluding geelong), but also access to the GA area at Adelaide Oval for all games except the showdown and the sydney game. i'd like to see this feature included on any SA based membership (so that people can travel to melbourne, and not have to worry about getting a ticket).

- quality of the merchandise is very cheap. my son got a puma crows guernsey for his birthday, it's better quality than the reebok ones, but not by much. conversly, i have an old adidas guernsey (2007 era i think), the quality is streets ahead

- do not give a flying * about what poort does or thinks. don't even give them the time of day. for that matter, do the same to the rest of the comp..

can't think of anymore at the moment. i'm sure i've got more in me though

What happened to Nigel Smart's plan of having a Crows venue in the CBD?

I wonder if/when Skycity move out, would it be possible to take over their tenancy at the Railway Station? It would be a prime location for match day, live bands, private functions etc.

the old railway station is largely unused anyway. yeah the casino takes upa bit of it, but theres still quite a bit of room left in there isn't there?

Now we're in the city we should have a lot more player appearances in Rundle Mall/Victoria Square. Lots of giveaways and "Lou's handball" games with Crowmania vouchers for prizes.

Oh and it is about time we made a decent promo video. The 2012 one was ok but a bit too nice and last year's "effort" of just the theme song was a joke. Spend some money FFS.

The general rule of thumb is; as soon as business start to struggle financially the first area of the budget to be slashed is the marketing.

We are still paying the lawyers fees from the Tippett scandal. I don't see any extra money this year getting directed towards the marketing team.

I think we may even see less things happen over the next 12 months in terms of marketing the club.

1) Change our home guernsey removing the bottom 2 red and yellow loops.
2) Change our away guernsey to the guernsey worn by our SANFL team.
3) Spend more time promoting the club in schools and at junior sporting events.
4) Advertise on public transport.
5) Have a place in the city where Crows supporters can meet up after the game, have a drink, and have the after match player presentations. Including a Happy Hour.

Advertise and have a match day presence on pulic transport.
Cheerleaders in the train station greeting arriving fans etc.

Blimp I like. No idea on cost though.

Create a permanent presence in the cbd, closer to our oval the better. Use it to sell membership, support fans dropping in etc

Oy. Positive ideas only. No negatives please.

Also, line up pubs in each city interstate that can be Crows pubs and make it known perhaps on the website or whenever that certain pubs are crows pubs when crows matches are on. Be great if you happen to be in say Sydney and you look up the crows pub and watch the match with other crows supporters. Make it something more official

This is a great idea. Create a Crows application that people can use when interstate to direct them to "Crows Friendly" pubs (complete with Happy Hours) that the supporters can meet up in before and after the game.

If we did have an app why not also have a regular BBQ day at the club (preferably on Port match days) complete with an online treasure hunt for Crows merchandise/memorabilia for kids.

Most Interstate groups organise pre/post match functions at particular places. These are generally advertised on the Crows website. I like the idea that it be included on their APP though!

What about regular disco's at the Shed for under 14/15's -ie Blue Light Disco type event. If you are a Crows member you get in free. If you are a Port supporter you are finger printed and given a tray for serving drinks.

Well if it exists it needs to be marketed better. Make it known! I'm not really sold on supporter groups anyway. Seems like a bunch of oldies organising cup cake fundraisers if you ask me. Not exactly a place a younger person wants to be seen at.

I have found the exact opposite. I have always found Crows supporters at interstate games to be younger, louder and more inclined to party than the AAMI folk.

I'm not sure about younger, but definitely LOUDER. And fond of a beer or three. ;)

Maybe that's true, I just see the photos in the crows magazine and cringe. GOod on them for being passionate but no way am I joining. The support we had during the prelim final against Hawthorn in 2012 was great. A lot went over there and it was buzzing. AAMI is full of people who listen to 5AA while the match is on an show little to know or emotion. You can hear a pin drop during some matches.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about interstate supporters groups. Confused now. :drunk:

Great thread but can the title be changed as its abit ambiguous. Can we change it to something like "Your Marketing Ideas".

We need to start selling more player memorabilia at affordable prices.

Another idea is one of a kind supporter offers for example get to travel with the team to an interstate venue, access in the rooms before and after the game, corporate box access, signed team guernsey and return flights. It would appeal to wealthy supporters and make us some serious money in the process. Also it would allow select supporters to engage with the players.
