I posted the following in another thread. I intend to add to this thread longterm. I think supporters have been hoodwinked into not opposing these people because it would be seen as a show of disunity. I believe thats a mistake.

I wouldnt like to see Eddie go. He's dynamic .... but he needs to hear opposing views at board meetings.

the first thing that i would do would be to change the board
EDDIE MCGUIRE (PRESIDENT)
ALEX WAISLITZ (VICE-PRESIDENT)
ALISA CAMPLIN-WARNER
CHRISTINE HOLGATE
MARK KORDA
PAUL LEEDS
IAN MCMULLIN

ian mcmullin. most clubs have high profile ex players on the board and we have ian mcmullin. what is with that?
christine holgate. are you kidding me? is this a walking conflight of interest? we need women on the board but we can do better
mark korda. he's an accountant that barracks for collingwood. sounds like a good resume for a consultant to the club
paul leeds. he lists all the winners that he has got with his nags on his CV. evidently, he has a passion for thoroughbreds....good, go out for some family rides with the grandkids on weekends....
alisa camplin-warner. at least she is a sportswoman so that's a positive.

ALEX WAISLITZ (VICE-PRESIDENT) He or was a director for Visy companies....Pratt companies......hello hello....am i the only person in the world who knows about the connection between visy and carlton? I'm not saying that he's incompetent just because he's probably a carlton man but PLEASE...cant we do better? He's another financial accountant. How many do we need on the board????? just how many?????

let me print something from wiki about waislitz's company. take it for what it is
"In 2016 the Australian Taxation Office revealed that the company had paid no tax in 2013-14, despite revenue of $430 million."
That gives a fair reflection of his attitude to the community
he's the vice president......

it's like a conga line with eddie firmly at the front leading the show.....

and yet not one person challenges the board in elections......

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-22/ato-30pc-of-large-private-companies-pay-no-tax/7266454

And more news about OUR vice president....

Among the other largest private companies that paid no tax in 2013–14 were:
  • Pratt Consolidated Holdings, despite more than $2.5 billion in revenue;
  • Thorney Investments, run by Richard Pratt's son-in-law Alex Waislitz, which earned $430 million in revenue;

Did i tell you that Alex married the boss's daughter? He probably never barracked for Carlton.... always a Collingwood man eh....

http://www.opportunitiesforafricans...overty-usd100000-fully-funded-to-new-yorkusa/

So Alex sets up a foundation and gives a prize to someone who does something about poverty..... $100,000 from a man who runs a company that makes millions and doesnt pay taxes

And it comes from the alex waislitz foundation and the prize is called the waislitz global citizen award..... and of course it's not for self promotion...

( and yes, I am an average guy who never did anything amazing - just paid his taxes all his working life and gives a higher proportion of his income in gifts to charity than this stock market speculator... just in case you were wondering if i had a right to judge )

just in case you were wondering who he was. It lists his skills and achievements underneath...... ....it might not fit on the page...

Ian McMullin
Ian McMullin has been a key figure (??? I wonder how) at Collingwood for several years. He was elected onto the Collingwood Board in 1998, and has served on the board ever since.

Ian a former player, who contributed 25 games to the Collingwood cause.

His first stint at the club was between 1984 and 1987 before returning to Victoria Park in 1992 and 1993. Ian also managed 24 games for Essendon between 1990 and 1992.

Not married anymore, just for the record.......

more about Ian

so he's the junior partner to either his father or brother ..... of course he uses the fact that he's a board member on the site....money in the bank

and he's a financial advisor or whatever you call them..... they make money out of money and dont do much that's constructive.

so that means that we've got 3 of these financial type people on the board..... gee how many does a club need? Are we running a football club or an investment advisory service?

kicked 5 in his second game in a final out at Waverly and i thought we had discovered something special. Never transpired in a football playing sense but he obviously has carved out a very strong Collingwood career off the ground.

About carving a career. The following is about Ian, the dad. The son, Ian, joined the business. Ian the elder is an obvious collingwood man. He started spotless as a single shop in collingwood. He seems to have had an admirable life, but its his son that's on the board......

IAN MCMULLIN & FAMILY

  • $235 million

  • LAST YEAR: $234 MILLION

  • PROPERTY, INVESTMENT MELBOURNE

  • 85. MARRIED, FIVE CHILDREN
Ian McMullin is the founder of Spotless Group, establishing it in 1946 with a single dry cleaning shop in the inner Melbourne suburb of Collingwood. Bruce, his older brother who passed away earlier this year, joined him at Spotless. While Ian has been referred to as a classic entrepreneur, Bruce was credited with providing a steady and reliable influence at the company as it grew. It was after Spotless listed in 1961 that it diversified into other business such as catering, cleaning and retail services. McMullin stepped down as director from 2006 after 60 years in the business. He still held a small shareholding in the company before the firm was acquired by Pacific Equity Partners for about $720 million earlier this year. His McMullin Group develops property and runs other businesses including MPG Funds Management, a specialist property funds management company and Fort Knox Self Storage. McMullin is a keen golfer and football fan. His son Ian is on the board of the Collingwood Football Club.

I believe Alex Waislitz has donated a lot of money to Collingwood.

is it in the books? I doubt it. Well he has certainty got a lot in return. He uses his connection to the club in all his promotional opportunities....

I was being ironic. I agree with you wholeheartedly on our boards compilation. It actually resembles our playing list in regards of being too strong in certain areas with no depth in others.

This is very useful material Mark.

In recent years I've admired the way the Dogs have gone about things, even before they won the flag last year. I have great admiration for Sue Alberti, although I think she has retired from their Board. Wondering how the makeup of the Dogs' Board compares?

Right now we need courageous and independent thinkers and doers. We don't need 'yes' men and women, who don't stand up to Eddie.

So, do you want the entire board turned over with exception to Camplin-Warner and McGuire?

Or do you just want Ian McMullin to get the guillotine?

While I'm at it, do you have any suggestions as to who would replace the current board members? Anyone at all? Is there actually anyone putting their proverbial hands up for the board or making any noise whatsoever?
