Well I didnt see many Richmond games this year but I did see his 5 goal debut against the Bulldogs and liked what I saw.

Still only 19 and was taken in a strong draft.

I wouldnt be disappointed if we took him on as at least a rookie.

Read will be good for us if we take him.

He's a hard worker, big body and puts pressure on defensively as well as being able to run off half back.

Only worry is the amount of half backs we'll then have but he is in my opinion the best player available by far.

I'm confident he can build on what he's got and become a disciplined Chris Johnson liike defender.

I'd rather stick with the half back's we already have. They have good recent injury records. Read is a hack & a nasty snarl does not make a bloke tough!

I'd rather us try & bolster an area where we're lacking, i.e. crumbing forward or midfielder.

Read is strogner and more close checking than any of our other flankers and plays a slgihtly different style.

I agree with you though that we need to concentrate on finding a crumbing forward and strengthen the midfield, I just dont see any obvious fixes in the PSD for those areas.

McGrath was dropped from Richmond due to his poor attitude towards training and football in general.

I would doubt he would be drafted by anyone.

Martin Pike was dropped by Fitzroy and North for his poor attitude. Somebody might snaffle him. Leaving aside his game against Footscray, who had the loosest defence in the league, did he do much else ?
