Martin vs Jetta/Rohan

If memory serves me right, Sydney needed to add speed to their side so Jetta and Rohan cetainly bring that to the table. Their list was (probably still is) was more advanced than our own so could probably get away with adding those kinds of role players (not a knock of the ability of Rohan or Jetta but more to say they would add extra class to an already impressive outfit).

I think if you were rebuilding Martin would be the better pick but if you already had a good side with similar players already in place (obviously Martin would be a nice bonus), adding good role players to fill needs elsewhere would be more sensible.

The most sensible option of all is taking the star player over a couple average players with a bit of pace. Martin is an upgrade on Jack, Mitchell, Hannebery or a gun medium forward

That being said, Sydney supporters will have a much larger appreciation of what Jetta and Rohan bring to the team than any non-Swans fans will. They are not spuds.

Don't really understand this. Averages over 20 disposals and a goal a game over his entire career. Has been top 5 in the B&F since his first season, and has regularly pulled 25 possession multiple goal games over the years. He has improved as his fitness has improved, that's no different to any other mid that plays the game though.

I understand it would take a lot to get Martin, he's a gun, but there's not a chance in hell we'd trade either of those players for him. Both are better (Parker still a year younger than him too), and neither have any of the associated baggage.

As for the poll question... Even with Jetta in brilliant form this year and the possibilty of Rohan living up to his potential I'd take Martin. There was a reason the Swans were willing to give up those 2 picks for him.

Just remember your Sydney bubble and the trend of trying to criticise and ridicule everything that is Richmond, just cos it's the fashionable, fun thing done on bigfooty, regardless of any real knowledge about the team. Dusty was a bees dick from winning the BnF last year which was when he really matured as a player, putting in many 4 quarter efforts and winning games off his own boot due to dominant one on one duels almost weekly. Imagine Dusty with the speed of Rohan and Jetta, would make G Ablett look second rate.

Who has said anything about a minder, what a load of crap. He lived with Gary March (ex president or ceo?) in the early days and has really matured in the last couple of years and is mentored and looks up to Lids and Newman. Still waiting for an example of his extra baggage, his one and only indiscretion was a week off for being late to training due to him taking a sleeping pill from his best mate, Connors. Little tip mate, I wouldn't believe everything you read on the Tigers board, also the majority of bigfooty posters really love talking crap, hanging shit on anything Richmond. It's endemic and until we at least win a final, the crap and criticism will continue to flow. Alright mate, not getting overly defensive, just wanted an example of his extra baggage you alluded to in your first post which you keep avoiding. it's just that as I posted earlier, Richmond sells papers and a lot of bullshit gets branded around here. Melbourne's AFL scene is far more discussed than Sydney hence a lot of untrue articles etc. If Parker played for a Melbourne based team such as Richmond he'd probably receive similar untrue media attention also.
