Has this ground ever had a month go by where a complaint isn't made either about the pitch, the roof being opened, or the sun coming into the stadium due to the direction it was built in?

And more importantly, would the AFL entertain spending a significant chunk of money to change the stadium significantly to rectify the issues its having. It is staggering that a stadium that hosts so many sports events and constantly it isn't up to scratch. What options would they have to fix this? Would modifications to the roof be an option?

If the aflpa had any guts they would threaten injury compensation or even a ban on playing there. Unions entire point of existing is to ensure pay and work conditions. The afl clearly dgaf that the ground is in consistently unsafe condition and unfortunately the money is the only thing that would see a corporation like afl make any change.

Can’t have that and a drug policy with loopholes the size of the iceberg the titanic hit in it. One or the other

There isn't enough clearance from the turf to the carpark for the grass to knit properly, add the sunlight (or lack of it) issue and you have an absolute joke of a stadium.
I heard it's sinking too and that the carpark regularly has a large volume of water coming in. Needs to be flattened and re-built from scratch

If sold, matches will still be played there. Melbourne needs more than one showcase stadium. Unless you spend tens or hundreds of millions developing something else, Docklands will always be required.

Cheaper to just spend the many millions to redo the whole playing surface, or upgrade the stadium in general. Get some expert consultants in, pay them a shitload of money to work out how to fix it and then fix it.

They have taken all the blockbusters away from the ground, they play all the crappy fixtures there now and when was the last time it touched anywhere near 50K in attendance? The AFL have no intention of fixing the playing surface. It should be the AFL showpiece venue and it should be packed every week, but it isn't!
