can talbot still make 3rd spot and the finals double chance
they r 8 prem. points back in 4th spot .... fortunately their % isnt too bad
but if they cant beat rovers in the home and away u wouldnt think they would beat them in the elim final
 how many rounds left in the mcdfl ??

I seen the Brook and Harcourt Play a few weeks ago. Harris only gets the easy kick is a bit of a flashy player out on his own if he has somebody on him he wont have much imput
he is flashy but hes been taged before in the chfl and should be able to beat most run with players i would guess but it is interesting that you say he only gets the cheap kicks because ive seen him play quite a bit and he used to earn the hard ball. People can change tho i guess.

I think old Artline saw Chipper play when he was full of the flu. Think you will find he has been more than servicable and come finals we should see a very dominant performance. He is deafinetly a classy player.

Agree. I saw him when he was at Rebels and Clunes and is a great player. Carisbrook have done well to snap up a guy of his quality. Many CHFL teams would pay top $ for him.

WHAT'S your draw in the lead-up to the knockout elim. final, King Rich ?
Any easy games in the last three ??
Dunolly (h), Brook (a) & maldon (h).

Hopefully we can have a confidence boosting win this week. We should regain 5-6 quality senior players this week which will also help.

Interesting day out for Carisbrook, Trentham seemed as though they were witches hats in a training drill...;)
The margin wasn't as great as what it has been against some other teams so it looks like they are improving after their first win! Hopefully they can retain their players from next yr and keep building.

How was the ball Houndog? Did you tear up the dance floor? Or too busy working on a lucky lady?

Ball was a good night rocket. managed to carve up some rug on the dance floor for around 4 minutes until i tweaked a hammy, was doing very well with the ladies till I was told they were all still in high school so i remained single for the entire evening!!

Congratulation to Warren Evans who popped the question after the main course and lucky for him his lovely fiance was drunk enough to say yes!! Great stuff Waz!!

I think there would be just as much chance of kevin sheedy coaching avoca next year, as mick ! IMO, thats excluding the fact that avoca has been rapt in the coaching effort of tony bellenger. He can play a bit too! I only hope he goes close to winning the league medal, would be just reward for a great season.Maybe mick would cosider putting his name forward to be coaching our reserves or under 17 s, that must be what you are talking about Beton5 ?

Sorry all you MCDFL followers, this Beton 5 is famous for posting rubbish on several different threads, Please we are only interested in serious football facts and not the stuff you keep posting. I think I know the young fellow that you are talking about and he hasn't been around this way for a few years, I think he now lives in Stawell.

The move from the LPFL to the MCDFL has certainly been a fruitful one for Avoca, Keep up the good work boys.

HOPE your confidence is well-founded, K. Rich and likeminded Talbot followers.
Remember all the talk on this thread in March-April about "how we can't wait for the season to start".
Don't recall that ?? Scroll back and few dozen pages and refresh the memory.
Now the brown and gold boys could see the Exit sign in just a few short weeks and we've been playing only three, short months.
Still, it's still only mid-August and that could be avoided. But it's pretty well folklore now that a club has to finish Top Three (in AFL Top Four) to be any chance in a finals series.
:thumbsu: Not forgetting, of course, Adelaide finished sixth one season back there in the 90s and still took out the AFL flag. On the same scale of things, Golden Square made it through from the elim. final in 2001 and beat Sandhurst in that season's Bendigo F.L. grand final when the Hurst lost the unloseable grannie :thumbsu:

Can recall quite clearly thanks Jock! We're still pretty confident in our camp and are looking forward to tomorrows clash and then the following week against the Brookers! We have had shocking luck with injuries again this year and although u cant use it as an excuse... it certainly hasn't helped our cause.

We feel this week we have turned the corner on the track tho and will put in a good display tomorrow. It obviously helps to finish top 3 but if ur playing good enough footy it shouldn't matter where you finish! We not fussed about being the underdog and finishing 4th..... We know our best is still good enough to win it.

U like to be negative and that is fair enough...... some people get old and are like that...... hopefully we can prove u wrong and u are big enough to admit that later on the in the year!

Go Hawks!

Wouldn't a just reward for a great season be a premiership Puma? Or is the league medal more important?

Yeah spot on again Crazy, Beton5 (Paul Dalziel) or Babba80 being another of his known identities is just one of those people that likes to stir up shit on other threads that are of no relevance to him with most of his posts being un-football related. Your rite I aint be around the MCFL for a few years now and dont think I will be next season either. As for me living in Stawell I haven't exactly grown 2 heads yet, hence I dont live there but just down the road where I now play football!!

As for Paul Dalziel (Beton5), he's one of those blokes that probably shouldn't look after those in green but probably been in green himself! :D

About the only truth he has ever posted is that I will be over Maryborough way this weekend, back at the stomping ground in fact, I think you'll see me sailing away in a boat sometime Sunday arvo!! :thumbsu:

Few interesting results this wkend!

Dunolly were very poor and looked to be undermanned. Must be a tough job playing and coaching when players dont turn up on the day!! They have a talented group of kids coming through in Liddicoat, Hawkes, Lierach etc and these boys need some guidance or they will be lost to the club!

Newstead beating Rovers has opened the door for Maldon etc to perhaps sneak into the finals.

Brook dont seem to be in super form after only kicking away from Bushy in the last.

How was the Harcourt v Avoca game?? Harcourt looked to win easily and are now placed firmly as Flag Favourites!
