whats to say he hasnt floated through the area rich, and is colac the only place the big fella has ever laced up the boots, i doubt that! looks to me as if your the one drawing your own conclusions here my friend ;)
Chookie Chookie Chookie. He has played at Otway all his life and played one game at Ballan last year! I just highly doubt Crank has seen him play that is all! Anyway enough about him. He should be a handy player for Talbot with a bit of luck.

the banter footy creates isnt terrific, everywhere you go its there..but on a more serious note putting aside the shananigans does this quality signing give this talbot side a red hot crack at september? where did they finish last year? will there be any bendigo and ballarat league players heading out towards your league with the grounds situation?
I would think we would be a top 4 side. Anything less than finals would be a massive disappointment. As for how far we can go that will depend on how we play and the opposition presented to us.

Fair enough fellas we will leave it there. Talbot should go well this year barring any bad luck. Hopefully theres a bit of rain soon and everyones having a kick on the 14th of April.

For the record I have seen Tommy C play.

Can anyone tell me what Maldon is thinking???? Fancy appointing a coach that sent the club broke going back a few years ago!!!! Waterson is a bloke that only wants success and doesn't like getting beat... Hey Newstead! and he comes at a cost... sure you can sign big name players and all the smoking guns in the world but they all come at a cost! you watch they will be one hit wonders then be broke again!! A club like Maldon has had a great junior record and i don't understand why they don't try and recruit some of those players back. Look at some of the fellas that have gone on to do well... Trevor Bell, Wayne Bell, Locky Brown, Brad Zammitt, Carl Cummins, the Burchells Brendan Sheppard, Carrolls, James Boys, Brendan LLoyd just to name a few that go back a few years... whats the interest for them comming back---- none while they waste money! Wake Up Maldon!!!

Cant say I know Waterson but I know a guy who was part of the Newstead administration that appointed Waterson and they were very disappointed with him.
You are dead right with their juniors! They seem to have a lot of trouble hanging onto to them! Like all country clubs do now I guess.

Well put it this way if Maldon aren't a top 3 side this year they might as well give it away. I know that they spent a hell of a lot of money last year and got no where... so how long can that go on! they need a clean wipe of the board and start fresh! They had a brilliant fella coaching them years ago by the name of peter cole (later went on to coach creek) He would have to be the most genuine fellas with the best footy head i know. He coached them for 17 years straight for nothing (money) and only missed the finals 4 times in 17 years then they sharfted him! A lot of people were very dirty with that and havn't got over it! If anyone from Maldon reads this don't be affraid to ask phillips, grey and cox what they did to a great club and why they shagged it good and proper! WAKE UP MALDON!

They may get found out this year as to be top 3 in this league this year will require a good side I feel. Any one of Harcourt, Brook, Avoca, Talbot, Maldon, Rovers, Bushy, Newstead and maybe even Trentham could be in the 5. Competitive year I would think.

Avoca might get some indication where it is heading when it meets Boort in a practice match at Avoca this Saturday 24th March. All grades of football and netball I believe. Boort were runners up in the NCFL last season while Avoca finished just outside the five. Boort seems to have lost a couple of key players while Avoca have picked up a few. Should make for an interesting day.

If they field a full strength side you will be in a word of pain.

i believe he is saying u guys will get flogged wonker, if they produce a full strength side.
Correct there Sherman.

I think if both sides met during an actual season, it would be a whitewash. Not taking anything away from Avoca. From what I read, they will be a decent team in 2007 but the NCFL is a big step up in standard.

No practice matches on tonight at the park because of the rain. Couple of MCDFL teams missed out on a hit out. I don't think they will play any on Friday either due to chopping the ground up for the cricket GF sat/sun.

Yeah heard that Billy. Bit of a shame. Thought the Burra would be loathed to cancel the night series and miss the cash! Oh well should be in tip top condition for the cricketers come the weekend!

yeah hopefully, they dont play friday night, especially if its a bit damp, as it would be a real shame to wreck the pitch conditions for cricket grand final.

With the season drawing close (Hopefully) and having seen most of the ins and outs for most clubs its probably a good time to try and pick the ladder for this season. Be interesting to see everyones thoughts:

For me the top 1-2 is pretty well set but from then on it becomes a lottery. Very tough to pick:

Harcourt: Only lost Thompsons. Haven't picked up many but will be strong.
Carisbrook: Only major loss in Field and from all reports are training well and have recruited well.
Talbot: Have retained most of last years list and have recruited many old and new faces. Training well.
Avoca: Will fight for 3rd spot with Talbot. Have recruited reasonably well but think the loss of Robinson will hurt them in the middle.
Newstead: With Christmas gone, Oliver and Tunn retiring you would think they will find it hard to kick goals. Still a good enough list to play finals.
Rovers: A few key outs for them and not many ins. Will still be in the mix.
Maldon: Could be anything with the reported quality of their recruits. Will win quite a few at home but may struggle on the road.
Royal Park: The loss of Egan will hurt a lot. I think they will be similar to last year but with the comp becoming more even will probably drop a few positions
Trentham: Another team that could be anything. Apparently have recruited quality but its a long way for them to climb. Are a potential finals outfit if it all clicks. Cautious approach suggests between 4-8 wins though.
Dunolly: Another struggling year for Dunolly, will fight it out for the spoon with Creek.
Creek: I think they could be as poor as Trentham in 06.

Fair wrapup there Rich. Not sure whether Oliver is retiring however. Don't be surprised if he laces up the boots in 07!

Also heard Dunolly have picked up 6-8 players from Ballarat. Not sure what sort of quality but a bit of depth won't hurt at all.

Question- What happened to that Eyles fella that was going to Harcourt? Was meant to be a gun.

I speak to a chick who is involved with Harcourt a bit and she said that that Eyles was playing. No clearance yet though. He has apparently been secured for a while now so you must wonder why it hasn't been put in yet???

Yeah I hear what your saying with Oliver. Fair chance he will suit up a again as its tough to sit and watch. I hope he does!

Who's responsible for getting those players to Dunolly??

King: There is still alot of clearances not put in yet, that I know of, Possibly Talbot are all ready to go, But I know of a Number of players coming into the league still but haven't lodged clearances as yet. Note Rovers haven't submitted one, but there is a number coming.

If the season starts on time it is only three weeks away, does not leave much time....
