Classic off-season post awaits you :)

Forgive me, but was there ever a time when Carlton toyed with an actual mascot?

Of course, not a big deal(!), but I have at times been envious of other clubs' mascots, such at the Tigers, Eagles, Lions, geez, even the Giants is pretty sweet

Thus, being a bit younger perhaps than others on here - did CFC ever trial a proper mascot?

Should bring back this guy...

Maybe a Blue-arsed fly. Could simply run all over the place with no discernible pattern or direction.

Not sure if Emu is available, would be worth a call

And give away our gameplan before the bounce?

navy nina ain't gonna make it - no impact thus far and not sure why we are keeping her on other than to appeal to young girls in the crowd - needs to have a very big year or I think she will be sent to mascot hell in 2019 ie. shopping centre matinees............

Luna Park special appearances.

Carlton's official nickname is the 'Blues'. Since the addition of navy blue to the playing uniform in 1871, the club has been known almost universally in print media as the Blues, Dark Blues or Navy Blues. Other colloquial nicknames include Bluebaggers or 'Baggers.[20]

Prior to 1871, when the uniform was predominantly chamois, the club was known informally as the Butchers. After World War II, the club briefly considered changing its nickname to the Cockatoos, but this never formally eventuated;[20] even so, the push was serious enough that newspaper cartoons depicting a Carlton cockatoo were printed around that time.[24]

The Butchers. I love it!

Been the unofficial name from BF posters when describing our disposal efficiency for years.
