Congrats to Coxy (jinx!), glad to see his career continue.

Two years straight off the bat... nicely done at 34 years old. Although I'm sure the dollars will be pretty limited given his role.

Mason has seen a lot more of the country than I have and I'm sure that will now continue in WA with all that sprawling land laid out for him to explore.
 
To the tall American man,

I would also add the new “no wrestling” rule favours huge Rucks like Cox, so the decision was a little perplexing.
Freo needed to replace their Ruckman who went to Carlton.

I was treated by a physio last week. She told me she played in the VFLW team for a few years.

The only senior player who bothered to acknowledge her existence with a simple “ hello how are you” was Mason Cox.

Edit no intention to bag any senior players out there, just to acknowledge what a pleasant considerate and friendly guy he is.

Not a mistake by us but a necessary risk due to our age demographics. The risk of not turning over the list now far exceeded the perceived lack of ruck depth next year. The club will turn to Steene Smit or Buller if necessary. Sooner or later these players need to be asked to step up.

Probably a mistake by a few other clubs who probably had more need than Fremantle though…
 
There's a good chance I won't be watching Fremantle the next couple of years not that I watch much anyway....Coxy in purple, it's too weird!
 
Happy for Mason to have landed at Freo. They are pretty much a nothing club, created by the AFL to offer Western Australians an alternative to barracking for West Coast. Which is fair enough.

But Mason looks silly in purple. The colour just doesn’t suit his Texan complexion.

And Mum and Dad will now have a much longer trip to see him. Although I’m sure Phil will embrace the West with enthusiasm.

I normally save good thoughts like these for Carlton. Good to see the thoughts appropriately shared around. Maybe the purple top would suit Mason with purple hair.
 
I know Mason is 35 but gee we should have held on to him for at least 1 more year.
Many still dont realise how under valued he really is .He is a premiership player that has learnt the game and is still of great value at least as a back up ruck.He is a big game player i guarantee this will come back to bite us.
Freo see the value in himm as Darcy wont play all yaer.
Smit and steene both no good.If Cameron goes down we are stuffed.
And no Mcastay should never be played again in the ruck. Frampton is a pinch hitter leave him in the back line.
Buller is a forward not a ruck.

So pies big mistake to let big MASE GO.WOULD HAVE GIVEN US INSURANCE FOR 1 MORE YEAR.
 
I was always a part of the Mason adds structure fan group. He played the first part of the season in the twos. He was our backup/insurance in 2025. The club has chosen to part ways and invest in youth. With full knowledge of the development of Steene and Smit the choice has been made. It may have a cost but the list is weakened because the club has not been investing games in youth. A shift was required. I still love Mason.
