Moore has barely done more than Cox and Reid is nearing the end.
Hahahahaha lol Moore barely done more than Cox. Please come back and talk to me when Cox plays on the number one defender. I find it also funny that Reid at 28 is cooked and Cox at 26 has years of development left in him. Cox is at his physical peak and still to lightly built and struggles body on body

I think Cox is definitely part of the club's short term future. He has no rebound impact but he is a solid forward target and a better ruckman. The potential impact that Grundy, Cox and Moore could have on the competition in the ruck and air is unmatched by any other club. It is a strength of the club's game in my opinion and it should be embraced.

We are not going to improve Cox's forward pressure but we could improve the pressure of the players around him.

Varcoe is one player that can impact the scoreboard and provide a truck load of forward pressure with his dash. Goldsack is another option as the third tall.

We need to trial these things now not past failures.

Cox has the body to play until his 30s, very durable and extremely athletic.

Reid on the other hand is extremely injury prone and has already shown signs this year he is quickly deteriorating.

I'd have to back Kappa on this one: Reid has had so many soft tissue injuries its problematic that he'll average 12-15 games a year for the rest of his career. Cox in terms of development is only in his 3rd year of any sort of AFL training and has never been injured so he offers far more in the way of consistency than does our Ben. Yes Ben was a gun CHB in 2011, now ... how would you classify him?

Reid would do more for the side in 15 games than Cox would in 22

You miss the point Cox is 26 his physical peak and does not have the body for AFL and has not put on any size in his 3 season at the club so I doubt he ever will.

I don't care if Reid is more injury prone. He is a better player than Cox, simple as that.

Rockliff is injury prone so you reckon they should play someone else in his spot when he is fit and ready to play? No you don't.

Moore has done decent this year, started off slowly but him pinch hitting in the ruck has really got him going. Still a very young developing player. You say Cox is also developing, who would you rather develop? Easy answer for me.

Unless Cox learns to start clunking those marks then at his height he can not warrant selection over Reid and Moore.

He's 110kgs how much size do you think he needs to put on? His strength is mobility, he doesn't need to add 10kgs of muscle it won't help him.

The extra weight will probably lead to injuries too

Yeah right what ever you say. How does being strong lead to injury? It doesn't. He needs to build strength though his legs so he can hold his ground, 110kg for someone of his height really isn't heavy. He would want to weigh in at 115-120kg

So you want him to weigh the same as Sandilands despite them having completely different game styles and strengths? What a stupid idea.

Do you think he'll be able to lead and jump at the footy (his biggest strength) with another 10kgs on the frame? Thank god you're not in charge of conditioning !

That post makes my brain hurt. So if we build up the strength and power in his legs it will lead to a decrease in his performance?
