That is the only time this season that Cox has been outmarked. I can live with one every 16 rounds.

Huh? He was actually outmarked a few times on Sunday.

It doesn't happen often, but it happened more than once on Sunday and theoretically unless the delivery is super poor, it shouldn't happen at all.

Typical Media to have a @CollingwoodFC doing something and trying to stop it

Loophole?

What a load of shit.

“Collingwood targeted an untried talent, available to all comers, and then facilitated his successful development” doesn’t have the same ring to it, I guess...

Cox comes out of contract in 2020, along with JDG, Grundy, Schaz, Aish, Maynard, Pendles and some lesser lights who will hopefully be brighter lights by 2020 (C and T Brown, and Murphy).

Frightening.

If Cox continues on his current trajectory, he will have clubs throwing big dollars at him. How on earth are we gonna manage this?
By re-writing/extending a good few of these in 2019, well before 2020. And winning a flag or two, then convincing them that it is ok to get unders to do that.

Have also been thinking that Collingwood should start a Red Sparrow-type program for a few of our partnerless Magpies to help retain them. It sounds like Mason is unattached. This program would not need to be included in the Total Player Payments cap or the Footy Department spending cap. Just spitballing at this stage.

Will I regret asking this - but what’s a Red Sparrow program?

Disagree.
He's grown up with the American culture of go where the money is.... I certainly wouldn't blame him.
He owes us nothing.

This is so short-sighted and prejudiced. And just wrong anyway. This was the rhetoric of a few on here last year but he signed on for less at Collingwood.

Maybe along the lines of the movie...
In the new film Red Sparrow, Jennifer Lawrence portrays Dominika Egorova, a special type of spy known as a sparrow. In the movie, sparrows are shown to be a certain branch of the Russian Intelligence Service (SVR) that trains women to be "honey traps" who use their sexuality to seduce and compromise foreign assets, like say, a CIA agent.

It was widely discussed at the time we recruited Cox that he would only come if he was paid a minimum equivalent to what he'd earn if he took up his engineering position. Was suggested at the time to be around $130k. There has been some subsequent discussion around the extra bits which may also be included in the package such as a car. Every club had/has the same opportunity.

Assume you aren't aware of the stats only 4 free kicks in first 24 quarters
We had a chat and since the contacts been called that illegally disadvantages him

Still not getting ALL he deserves

Plenty of over the shoulder chops to come , plenty of illegal shepharding

Just irrelevant , Mason may well deserve a better run from the umpires. But the umpires are not going to change. How badly Mson is being 'ripped off' just isn;tthe questi8on is what Mason is doing and ho wto go about winning or at least influencing contests,

Accentuating pushes has earned him how many free kicks that have been actually paid? In the mean time every single time he does he's lost the ocntest and is off balance with slower recovery to do the next thing.

It's bad losing strategy.

Didn't he also actually interview with a handful of clubs and then pick us?

Seems like his father has become a Collingwood tragic.
I'm sure his father will talk sense to him.

It’s not unheard of as I recall reading years ago that West Coast had a program of “partnering” up the interstate players with Perth models to accompany them to functions, etc as a strategy to mitigate the go home factor, increase the likelihood of player retention and make them feel less homesick and lonely. It was done as some form of an informal arrangement with a modeling agency from recollection and that’s why in the early to mid 2000s so many WCE players had girlfriends who were models. Judd was a prime example.

Add in the well-known appreciation that models generally have for recreational substances and it all makes sense. I know there is some story about Juddy meeting Twigley at a bar, but your version is better.

Definitely North (yes, another failed recruiting attempt) and at least 1 other.

Wasn't thst because of the visa issues?

Wasn't thst because of the visa issues?
Even so, not all Americans are mercenaries and other factors would have played a role such as his upbringing, his friendships, his employment opportunities after football, was he settled in Melbourne? etc, etc.

To just say he will go to the highest bidder because he's a septic tank because that's their culture is a prejudiced statement. For mine whilst no-where near as offensive as other cases of isms, it's the same level of stupidity as any racist, sexist, homophobic comment and personally I found really annoying to read those absolutist statements last year and now.

Were the purported visa issues ever confirmed, even from a process point of view? If he'd changed employer, would he have had to re-initiate the residency processes?
