I only believe tweets from Nigerian princes.

Hey I’m just waiting for the fortune to arrive.

Told 2-3 weeks

Been waiting 2-3 decades but its surely just ....

Yep I've since figured that out. :$

Either way I still have my doubts over the severity. Particularly if he appears as per the photo above to still be doing most training with the main group.
He may not be match fit and will need to get through the main session on Thursday, but it certainly appears that it's not the severe season-ending tear people are claiming.

That right hamstring looks gone, not putting any weight on it in this photo

Looks like hes had both legs surgically joined at the knees. So he wont need the right hamstring, as the left should be able to drive power through both lower legs. Experimental surgery I know but if anybody can make it work, Mason Cox can.

Please try not to insult Rory's tweets. Go to his profile and you'll understand. Not for me to explain. He seems a very good guy.

I understand his condition but tweeting serious news like that based on hearsay, and then have it posted on a forum like this, is not a great habit.
To his credit he retracted it within 18 minutes
Should never have made it to the thread IMO.

Do people even know what neural signs are?

Edit:seems a nuance from hamstring tightness from limited reading.
“Neural signs” usually refers to pain/numbness/pins and needles caused by excessive tension in a nerve.

What you may not realise is that nerves in the body are under tension, and they literally need to be able to slide upward toward your head, or down and away, given your movements. Otherwise they would simply tear with catastrophic consequences.

When a nerve becomes trapped, impinged or stuck (referred to as an adhesion), it inhibits the ability of the nerve to slide, causing nerve pain or numbness etc. This can happen due to a disc bulge in the spinal column, or muscle spasms/cramps peripherally, or a build-up of scar tissue (see Nathan Freeman).

It is quite a different feeling to a hamstring muscle strain, but can be demonstrated by stretching your hamstring out while slumped forward in your head/neck/torso. Google “slump test” to get the idea.

Neural signs are uncomfortable in themselves, and considered a risk factor for actual injury, as motor control can be impaired and reactive muscle spasm as a protective mechanism may lead to muscle strains in dynamic movements. Achieving good neural mobility, i.e. free sliding movement of your sciatic nerve among others, is an important part of conditioning to prevent hamstring injury in particular.

Not really. It’s a different feeling to a hamstring strain/tightness but is experienced in a position where your hamstring is also under tension.

Upper limb neural tension problems are also a thing, but unlikely to be relevant in this case.

Ever knocked your “funny bone” and felt that sickening, almost electric pain going down to your hand?

This is akin to the leg version of that, likely brought about by a back strain, back spasms, gluteal tightness, cramps or tight hamstrings.

How is it corrected?
That would depend on the source of the problem. As I mentioned, it could be a bulging disc in the back, back spasms, tight glutes, tight hamstrings, etc. etc.

Damn those engineers and their restaurant napkin schemes. Cox likely the ringleader.

Damn.....I thought they were hoax emails, I'm getting back on to that Army guy who came across some gold bullion in the Middle East and needs my money to get it out of the country for which he will reward me with a sizeable share. I hope someone else hasn't taken him up on it.
