Well its just ANY biotic power, so if Jack/Miranda/Jacob/Samara are in your party you'll still take advantage of it.
True. But why is it specifically useful for infiltrators?

I have been thinking about using Garrus with team AP ammo for my ammo power then having him power up concussive shot which is good against barriers and is good in combination with singularity.

Then I can use Barrier or Energy drain (gives you a shield boost while draining the enemies shields). Then you could add Miranda as the 3rd member.

Should work pretty well.

Finished it today
Legion died as i made Thane commander and the crew as i sent them back by themselves.

I don't understand how people are getting 40 hours from this game, unless you are spending a lot of time scanning.
I had did every mission/assignment other than the n7 assignments and had enough resources to get most of the upgrades i wanted, but was finished at around 23 hours.

Going a solider in Veteran with Crippling Slam and the reverent it is pretty powerful combo.

I thought the 'Human Reaper' was a bit weird, what the hell was that thing and what does it do?
<<

All in all, the best game i've played in a very long time and i've very happy with it

It took me 39.5 and i did as little scanning as possible. I reckon i would have blasted through on normal, but started on veteran. Hardcore i reckon will easily take over 40 hours

How much stuff did you do with your crew, re talking etc. That took a bit of time.

What level were you at the end. Can't see how you would have done everything in 23 hours

Re this....have you played the first game and understand what a reaper is?

Basically after humans were behind the pwning of Sovereign, they got the attention of the reapers, as it was something that was pretty amazing, a race powerful enough to take on a reaper. So they begun to construct a reaper based on humans...the premise behind the whole story really, why humans were being abducted etc

I reckon they should have been looking to make that reaper in the image of miranda, even if they would've had to harvest a few hundred thousand more humans to pad out her awesome ass and boobies. Still it would be worth it imo, having like a hot female version of dr manhatton squishing the Viet Kong with her mountain sized mamms. Wouldn't be a bad way to bow out, getting smothered by one of those babies.

Would also be good so that the climax of ME3 could play out like a tribute to Shadow of the Colossus where you have to climb up her naked body and plant a nuke between her breasts or something like that. That way, you could also throw in a Touching The Void reference where Jacob loses his foothold, falls and gets trapped in her crevasse. God I wish I made games for a living

Just out of curiosity, has anyone gone back and given the first game a razz since playing ME2? I've been trying at the moment, it feels really bloated now, everything just seems so cumbersome. It says a lot about ME2 that it's made a very, very good game look completely average. The only value in playing it now, I think, is in laying down foundations for your ME2 character to carry over, and that's not really something I want to spend 15 hours doing anymore...

On another note, my expectations for part 3 are unrealistically high now. Seriously can't wait. I was lucky enough to come to the ME1 party late, so the wait between part 1 and part 2 was only a couple of weeks. Not sure how I'm gonna sit it out for over a year... Cartman Wii time I think.

PS I hope Ill Man puts EDI in a humanoid body so she and Joker can GET IT ON for real, rather than the MSN bullshit they're clearly doing during part 2.

I also hope they do a bit more with customisation, particularly in regards to the haircuts. My current character has the shaved head look because all the others grate on me. Sure, she looks a little too much like Patrick Dangerfield than is comfortable, but it's preferable to the abysmal range of unchangable rock hard hair helmets the girls have access to. What, you've got a machine on board capable of repairing robot scars and shit but you can't give me a decent haircut? Get out. Or at least give her access to Miranda's conditioner

I find ME1 better as far as being heavier on RPG elements, and the classes allowed more customisation. It didn't feel as 'on rails' as the second either. The shooting isn't as precise, but it was never meant to be. Storyline flowed much better in this one too. Music was better too.

ME2 is way easier to play, and the inventory/upgrade system is heaps better in the second one, as is the abolition of the MAKO. The planet probing system isn't perfect, but its heaps better than the MAKO. The worlds don't seem quite as fleshed out as they did in the first one though, probably because you don't have those Mako moments where you're fighting off turrets and shit. Way better graphically though, and I really like the ally characters more in this one.

I understand the fighting is supposed to be a little cumbersome in the first game before you've upgraded your gun skills, but knowing it was deliberate design didn't make it any more enjoyable IMO. It's the same reason I couldn't get in to borderlands, aiming at something and not having any guarantee of a hit doesn't really work all that well for me (especially if, like me, you are a bit rubbish at shooting games). At least ME1 had, as you say, an awesome story and a heap of atmosphere to keep me interested (I don't want to undersell how much I loved ME1 by the way, on both occasions I played it through. It was more a comment on how good ME2 is than anything.)

I agree the planet mining isn't real flash; it's probably the only thing in the game that I find tedious, especially since you have to do so much of it if you want to unlock everything and get a good ending! The hacking and circuit board minigames I can take or leave as well, but at least they're short enough to be fairly innocuous I guess.

I'm not sure about which story I enjoyed more to be honest. One thing I am noticing with the dialogue scenes, there's very little happening visually in the first game - pretty much all of the time, the characters and camera are stationery. ME2 has a fair bit more going on and it makes a big difference (even if a fair few of ME2's pans and tracking shots don't appear to have any real point!).

As you say again, the narrative is probably better in the first, thanks to Saren being a pretty good villain, and the reaper exposition was a really good moment. In fact that whole level was great from a narrative point, with Wrex, Alenko/Williams, the nuke, your first throwdown with Saren, the reaper, the solarian assault in general, man that was pretty awesome, so much shit happening. I can't think of anything that awesome in the second game. But as you say the characters are mostly more interesting in the second game (worth it for Mordin alone IMO, absolute gun!) so I was no less interested in seeing how things pan out. And the ending's made me absolutely pumped for part 3, shit's about to hit the fan. Hopefully Illusive will turn out to be an absolute prick in part 3 (or more of an absolute prick, anyway), could make for a great antagonist I think.

Yeah i loved how it gives you 55000 or something of every element on the second playthrough. I haven't had to mine yet but it's coming. I do it when i'm tired and at the end of a session, good to do with eyes half closed and just wait for the rumble.

VD...love your work as always.:D

Hint for the mining probes. When you're rotating the globe with the right stick, move the left stick just straight up and down 0 but don't HOLD the L Trigger, just tap it really fast and you'll get through the whole planet heaps quicker without missing anything.

Yep. Thats what I did :) Takes like a minute or two.

yeh, i no what a reaper is, but the human one just looks a little weird. I got to around level 25 as well as finished all the dialogue with everyone expect Tali, Legion and Mordin.

Did you do their loyalty missions? That would add a few hours
The human reaper looks odd because it is merely a larve, it isn't mature yet. Its why its only quite small compared to the other reapers

yup, got all them done aswell.

Yeh, i still think it looks funny, imagine a giant human ship flying around with the other reapers which is more powerful then like the entire alliance fleet

Actually I got the impression that the Collector Harbinger was just a normal Collector inhabited by a Reaper just like he inhabited his foot soldiers.

I think i kind of wrote that backwards.
I meant Harbinger was a reaper who has control the general like he contorls the soliders (he 'releases' him at the end when the station is blowing up) but Harbinger could have been a reaper made from the Collectors cause he looks like the general. Or that when the reapers 'made' the collecters they modeled them after the species they where killing like the reaper. so the human-like collectors could only have been made when they began to harvest humans and so on .
Well i guess we won't know for anther year or so until ME3

Finished it with my Paragon Solider from ME1.

Kept everyone alive, blew up the ship, said **** you to Illusive man, banged Tali (Didn't get to see what she looks like!) and peace for the geth.

Awesome game, left me hanging for ME3

Having a romance in ME2 will have dire consequences for your relationship from ME1 in ME3, for all you womanizers out there Anthony_ :P.

Lol I played the field a bit,
had Mordin tell me to be careful of Miranda and suggested all these masturbation tools. :). On the subject of Mordin how funny is his Gilbert & Sullivan

Haha found the female Sheppard version of it with Garrus.

The romance option in ME2 left me with a bad taste on top of the end boss terminator i mean human/reaper hybrid.

For a male Shepherd, you can do it with Miranda, Tali and Jack. Now Miranda is like the space opera version of paris hilton, half (wo)man half plastic. Jack would look ok if she had long hair but alas she doesn't and it feels like make out with a man, oh did i forget to mention she is a psycho bitch. Now Tali is like an easily excited teenager and making things worse she wears a mask and you don't actually know what she looks like. My favourite was kelly, at least she was normal and human.

You don't actually get a romance scene with Kelly and she doesn't count towards the Paramour achievement. She's more of a fling type of thing than anything else. The actual romance options didn't really annoy me that much, since I'll be picking my non-cheating Shepard for ME3, but the actual scenes could've been more thought out I guess, without trying to act like one of those horny nerds that are like "OMFG NO SIDE BOOB THIS TIME!".

The Garrus/Female Shepard scene on the other hand is downright hilarious that has to be one of the better ones in my opinion.
