Multiplat Mass Effect 2

Depending on your class, but with infiltrator, upgraded sniper skill, the widow sniper, as well as armour-piercing ammo and assassination cloak all combined, you can take out the Harbinger with a roughly 2 shots. :D:thumbsu:

For the tower defence part on Horizon, my favourite spot is on the left side (when entering the area) on the elevated platform with access via 2 small sets of stairs. You can see the whole map from here and there's a guard rail to hide behind. The only thing to worry about is when the husks climb up behind you and when the Praetorian comes its best to find a large section of boxes to circle around and whittle it down slowly.

This is what I did too. Although I think on the last wave I went over to the furtherest part from the entrance and was just picking people off with the sniper.
The praetorian there was a truck in front of the platform you described, which I could just back around while shooting. Didn't get touched once on insanity while doing that.

Might have another play of this. I've only done it once and it's such a brilliant game but I don't know why I haven't played it more than once.

Also, anyone seen this, my mate linked me. Sorry if its been posted but its pretty damn funny.

Just finished my first play through on the PS3 as a male, full paragon solider. What a amazing game. One of the best I have ever played I think. Totally hanging for ME3 to come out now.

The last DLC has been dated. It will be released on March 29 and will again like the Lair of the Shadow Broker be a bridge between ME2 and ME3.
560 points for the 360, $6.99 for PS3 (That's U.S., I'm assuming it's the same for AUS?)

ARRIVAL
A deep cover agent is missing in Batarian space, after reporting evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion. Shepard must travel to the edge of the galaxy, rescue the agent, and discover the truth behind the Arrival. Uncover new research and 3 new achievements in this spectacular new adventure for Mass Effect 2.

finally decided to chuck this in the ps3 after owning it for a week and now i can fully appreciate just why it has recieved the acclaim it has.

i'm about 3 hours in and love every aspect about it other than the movement which feels way too slow and running while turning is too awkward. even the camera on high feels a lil slow but when the game is so complete it's easy to overlook.

my main concern coming in was that i'd get bored of the conversations etc..just like i did in fallout 3.
but suffice to say that i havn't been bored once and the constant animations and cutscenes keep me fully engaged.

another thing i must applaud is the animated comic backstory to fill you in about the first game.
was very well done and was interesting for the entire time.

i'm going to steer clear of this thread until i beat the game (like i have before playing it pretty much as well) but will post full opinions upon completion.
so far i like what i'm experiencing :thumbsu:

Did it go through all you choices? Did it have audio/clips from the original?

I know I'm flogging a dead horse but the story is ME is far better then ME2, just curious to how it translated into a short catch up comic.

the comic is completely voiced by shepherd and it gives you choices of what to do in all the key segments in the first game
such as whether you let some queen insect thing live after she promises that her ppl won't harm the humans or whether to kill her as they've been known to do it before or keep alive some dude who wanted to get medical care for his ppl or kill him so that it was smooth sailing to get to sauron (whatever his name was...not lord of the ring eye :P) or something along those lines.....seemed to be pretty comprehensive from what i could gather.

btw i looked at thread cause i knew your reply would be about the comic and was a quick response :P

Lol no worries. Seems it covers alot of the plotlines.
The Rachni queen my guess will come to the Humans aid in ME3 if you keep her alive.

Finally bit the bullet and started a Renegade ME1 run-through. The game is so much "clunkier", stuff like the equipment upgrades is just a pain in the arse. Hopefully I can smash through this quickly, and get started on ME2 Renegade...

Yeah it's more of a RPG in choices in Armour etc compared to ME2

Definitely, there are a lot more RPG elements. I much prefer the ME1 skill points system though, I like the level of customisation it offers. Apart from that ME2 is such a better game.

Are there any side quests I should do that are important to the story? Im pretty much just going to do the main story line quests so that I can finish as quickly as possible, but I dont want to miss out on anything important...

There are a couple of side quests that get a hat tip in the new game, like Conrad Verner the Asari from that Sentient Tree mission.

Jesus christ the item and upgrade system in ME1 was horrible. It really ****ed up my gameplay experiece. ME2 improved on anything. It's arguable that the ME1 story is better but ME2 is a 10/10 game for me and ME1 is a 7.5 or 8 at best game.

Would agree with the ratings.

Yeah im really not enjoying ME1 anywhere near as much as I did on the first playthrough. And even doubly so compared to ME2, its seriously such a better game.

Cheers for the info Ant, I dont think I will bother with them then. I did every single quest for my first ME1 run, so got to see all those "hat tips" in ME2. Dont need to see them again, only interested in the decisions that actually matter.

Playing ME1 after ME2 would be hard work.

When it was released, for all it's quirks it was an amazing game. But playing ME2 first would definitely make it seem old school.

I certainly don't miss the mako. I fell asleep driving around a random planet once and woke up with it just idling in a massive wasteland somewhere. Enthralling!

...and the next time you hit the Citadel there was some safety ad campaign about drowsy Mako drivers die. :p

Heh.

Least i didn't fall asleep near a thresher maw lair i guess.

Was the first time i'd fallen asleep gaming since my GT days on the playstation. Used to race split screen trial mountain against my B in Law until the wee hours. Knew the track so well that i'd rest my eyes on the back straight to restore my energy. Rammed the wall at the end a few times after dropping off
