I'm nearly 6 hours in after the first session. Decided to hit omega first and have picked up 2 new members of my team, the Salarian scientist and Archangel (woo archangel).

Game is friggin awesome, forgot how much i loved the first. One of my favourite new additions is the ability to perform paragon or renegade actions during cut scenes by pulling the left or right trigger in addition to the old method of just pulling them off in convos. Last night i had an opportunity to smash a guy over the back of the head with a wrench as he turned his back while talking to me, but i'm a good guy so i put it down and bid him good day, sigh.

Can see why this is getting so many perfect scores, its brilliant.

I'm going to download the zaeed dlc tonight. Does anyone know exactly what it entails? I understand it's another character, but do I get a large recruitment mission like the others?

So far i've just gone and grabbed him from omega, no big mission, you just meet him. He does have his own mission that he wants you to take care of as a condition of his recruitment, so i'd say it'll be pretty chunky.

He was there when I first got to Omega. His loyalty mission is just as big as the rest, and you get it right from recruitment so you don't have to go through all the dialog to get it.

Played about 12 hours worth, still haven't finished recruiting my team.

Yay, finally installing it!

I bought it on Thursday but I wanted I've been playing the first one recently. I finished it previously but that was 2 years ago. I wanted to get back into the story and I loved the first one so much, it wasn't hard. I played through as the same Shepard because I grew so attached to him the first time and it was rather cool starting with some decent stats.

There really were some emotional points in the first one. Some of my favourites:

"Can you not see what this means to the Krogan?" it'd have been very dramatic to shoot Wrex there but he was just so awesome that I couldn't

"blah blah blah we held the line!" those darn little Salarians

and the bit at the end where the Asaris on the council ship find out that the connection has been cut and no one is coming for them.

And in the first, which 1 did most people bang? Liara or Ashley? Sure, Ashley was hot for video game standards but she was a racist tart. I felt very good letting her die on Virmire.

Anyway, time to give #2 a roll
