Preferred ME1 to ME2 as well (except the planet exploring in the Mako, that was tedious to say the least).

Hanging for this though.

Agree with Ant regarding story line in ME1. I also gave ME1 a brief crack before getting bored and put it down for 6mths before trying again and loving it once you push on.

I actually didn't mind the Mako scenes. Allowed the world to feel a bit more open and more explore-able. EG loved a side mission that sent you to Earth's moon. You could look up at Earth and it felt like you were an Astronaut. I missed that openness in ME2.

I thought ME2 was the better game, but that ME1 did have a better story.

ME2's 'Suicide Mission' sequence was brilliant though; I'd argue the best mission of the series in terms of action, gameplay and story.

Anyone else think this could be the best game they've ever played?

Been thinking about ME2 a bit lately, and I don't think I've played anything that's keep me that captivated for that long.

I guess the best comparison is Skyrim: ES which, while an awesome game, comes 2nd to the Mass Effect franchise's storyline.

Been massively into Skyrim since picking it up Sunday.... but I'm still waaaaaay more excited about this. Cant' wait to see how the tie up the story.

not me

game goes for too damn long (though has nice variety and is interesting).

i look forward to ME3 (though won't buy on release regardless of the 9.5/10's it will score since reviewers barr up for long rpg type games) but i have heaps of other games i need to play that i bought in the meantime...

for me i can't see it being anywhere near as awesome as i found uncharted 2 & 3, god of war 1 & 2 or call of duty 4 just to name a few series.

Will definately get but don't know when. Played 2 and loved it. Then bought 1 to give it a go and turned it off after about 20 mins, couldn't take that backwards step in gameplay.

LOL 'goes for too damn long'. Usually the opposite complaint found in games these days

Anyone didn't like any of the ME games as much as Torment or Baldur's Gate II so I doubt I will think this is the best game I've ever played. Will play and enjoy though.

(Also kyle IMO ME2 was a backwards step in gameplay. :p)

Easily my favorite series.

It's up there with the Batman games as my favourite game series on the 360 (I bought the original Mass Effect on 360 because the PC I owned back then wouldn't have been able to run it, and stuck with the 360 since because of how the storyline is connected across the games).

I have the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3 preordered, as well as the fourth book in the novel series :D

The Mass Effect series is definitely in my top 10 of all time though, up there with the original Doom, Age of Empires 2, the PS2-era GTAs, Battlefield 2 etc.

Definitely with ant. best series ever.

Just great how when you finish a game you can continue your unique character in a sequel.

Goes for too long. lol

Seeing as my 360 shat bricks, I'm going to pick up the first two on Steam and set up a few new characters. Kind of pissed though as I had bought all the expansions and had at least 10 different characters ready to go for the third installment.

But I just have to reach level 100 in Skyrim first and master civ5....

1 gets better about 50% thru when the story picks up + plus you realize you don't have to micro manage (or need most) the items you find. Just fit yourself and squad members with your "highest" value kit and sell/gel the rest. Rinse and repeat that every now and then (normally if you're starting to struggle).

Recommend pushing thru the tough/boring start tho as things definitely pick up in the 2nd half.

I have to believe it can be done.

I didn't even stop playing Civ4 til earlier this year though. That came out well over 6 years ago. Must have played over 3,000 games of it by my recollection.

Shit's messed up.

This game is fast approaching, I've been meaning to go and get Mass Effect 1 so I can play through 1 & 2 before this comes out.

Have they made any announcement on the early access in the demo for those who bought the Limited Edition of BF3?

Quick question as I'm am not a tech nerd in regards to PC's.

What are the chances that an AMD Radeon HD6480G with 512 Graphics Memory could run Mass Effect 3? I smash all the other requirements and can run some new games fairly decently. Mass 1 and Mass 2 run perfectly on high performance.

Appreciate any help
