We will if we have a spot open up by now and then. With 2 first rounders and hopefully Kellaway as a cheap Father-Son pick at the end of the season I don't see us likely to participate in the Midseason draft.

Even if we don't, Prestia may get a tap on the shoulder if there's someone there we don't want to miss out on.We will if we have a spot open up by now and then.
I don't think we'd push him to retire early but he may well make the decision himself.Even if we don't, Prestia may get a tap on the shoulder if there's someone there we don't want to miss out on.
Not push as such, but I could see a pitch where we offer him a role in the coach's box for the rest of the season.I don't think we'd push him to retire early but he may well make the decision himself.

I know it’s a ****ing jokeSeems like
Mannagh, Durham, D”Ambrosio, Davidson
- we find them,
- recruit them to our VFL side
- Showcase them
- Let other clubs take them
I can't find player contract statuses, but we need to have a vague end of year plan for list turnover before we commit. We will if we have a spot open up by now and then.
Sorry to call a spade a spade but....it is not worth persevering with a bloke who plays 5 games a season & has done so since 2022.I don't think we'd push him to retire early but he may well make the decision himself.
Kmac, Dow and Prestia are the obvious ones. Colina too but he is Cat B. I'd say there is a fair chance Tylar Young doesn't get offered another contract either, especially if Gibcus gets his body right at the back end of the year. MRJ would probably be in the firing line but the last name probably means he'll get another year. Wouldn't be surprised if Kaleb Smith requested a trade if he hasn't cemented a spot.I can't find player contract statuses, but we need to have a vague end of year plan for list turnover before we commit.
IN - pick 1-3, OUT McIntosh?
IN - pick 5-6 OUT Dow?
IN - F/s Kellaway OUT Unneeded tall ? (Kozitshke, Young, Bauer, Lefau, Fawcett ?)
IN Midseason pick OUT Prestia? (retired/LTI)
Pretty sure Kozi is contracted for another year or so, unsure of the others.
Does Short or Broad get moved on?
When do we make the call on Steely Green, Kaleb Smith, Sam Banks, Tyler Sonsie, James Tresize etc to know if they are part of our future or not?
I agree but we won't push him out before MSD after what he has done for the club. As I said he may come to that decision himself.Sorry to call a spade a spade but....it is not worth persevering with a bloke who plays 5 games a season & has done so since 2022.
Tom McCarthy might be our man.Of those out of contract end of 2025:
Young, Prestia and Dow seem the most logical to go at end of year.
Kamdyn's form and flexibility warrants another year IMO, but he or the club may call time.
Bauer possibly could be somewhat left-field one - if Lefau comes back ok, and with a sudden abundance of tall forward options to try to get games into, could prove to be a bad year to be out of contract.
TLDR; we could comfortably make room if his form was too hard to resist leading up to the MSD. But wouldn't want to shaft Dion for a 170cm small forward who's played a handful of VFL games.
I like him, but I reckon if we were to pick him up it'd be in the rookie draft or SSP at the end of the year not MSD.Tom McCarthy might be our man.
Is the type we need.
We have very few pure running at speed types. Has a bit of Isaac Smith in him, tall, fast, runs all day and a good long kick.Tom McCarthy might be our man.

2024 ~ perfect storm of Dimma & Mini; some go home factor for gun players.I can't find player contract statuses, but we need to have a vague end of year plan for list turnover before we commit.

The Wizard is a runt isn’t he ?Shooting a tad premature I'd have thought. Yes he had a good game, but he's 171cm and not many that size make it, so he would want to be special. Not sure we can tell that just yet. He is a good tackler I'll give him that.
Yes but he went at pick 4 because he was a star at 18. Ruso is going well in the VFL, but not quite onn the level of the Wiz.The Wizard is a runt isn’t he ?
Maybe. McCarthy seems to me to have more tools to play AFL football. Ruso has some but we might be going a bit early, 3 games in. McCarthy was impressive last year as well.I like McCarthy, but he turns 25 this year. I think we're better off going for the kid in Raso.
Good comparisonWe have very few pure running at speed types. Has a bit of Isaac Smith in him, tall, fast, runs all day and a good long kick.

I was going to say plays a bit like Sam Banks, but McCarthy has more pace than Banks and more a power running. Age helps with the later, but speed is a big part of his game.Good comparison
I was thinking Durham, when he was on our list. Since getting to Bumbers he’s turned into a mid ( very good one).
Apparently there was a number of AFL recruiters at the game on the weekend watching him,
Prob also checking out Raso

Dion should do the right thing & get into development coaching or something, his body is cooked he has to & the club has to come to that realisation. his spot frees up a mid-season draft spot.
