I watched Masterchef NZ last year and Marco told them the NZ version is the best cooking show on earth too. So he's getting paid to make those comments, like all those chefs are. But I am looking forward to its return.

Yeah I don't believe any of the hype. Every year it's these guys are the best cooks we've ever had on the show

I would rather see actual amateurs learning and seeing the improvement over time, now it's all basically semi professionals who are too lazy to get an apprenticeship.

Still the best cooking show in Australia imo. Looking forward to it, find it a lot more interesting than MKR, I always do wonder how genuine it is though. These guys are supposed to be amateaur cooks and yet they are whipping out 60 minute masterpieces from a mystery box.

I love the show but they need to dial back the hype. In the promos it's the same old "best whatever ever" and we already have a dessert queen! I wish they'd just give us the 24 best amateur cooks and let it develop organically.
