Just watched the Channel 9 report on his death. Heavy implication that he didn't die of natural causes nor was there any third party involved. They didn't have the Lifeline number at the end of the report but the ABC online written report does, which is a dead giveaway.

Looks like the broadcast of the show has been indefinitely suspended, although the filming had wrapped for the season.

Nine have published their report online. Having police do a welfare check at 2am never bodes well.

The police made a public statement today that there was nothing suspicious in Jock's death.

A police welfare check at 2am suggests that someone raised concerns about his wellbeing, so unlikely it was just a sudden heart attack. Reported today that he had a recurrence of bowel cancer recently as well.

He will be greatly missed, was definitely the most knowledgeable judge in terms of technique, seemed to really have a great relationship with the contestants as well.

There's a lot of speculation going on. Let's wait until the autopsy report is presented to the coroner's court so we know why he died. But then again, why or how he died is none of our/your business anyway.

One of the first things i checked was the bottom of any article i read - none of them had it 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, none of our business at all. In this day and age though, talk of 'died suddenly' and sudden heart attacks unfortunately gives oxygen to the anti-vax ghouls who are ready to jump on any death as proof of vaccine side effects. You can see it on any social media post about Jock's passing already.

Just watching Media Watch, I didn't realise how hard some "media" outlets had gone on his "suicide".

Didn't we find out on the day that the Coroner would be investigating? And doesn't that almost always suggest that there's no note?

If that's the case, wouldn't you hold back if you're a journo?

I saw people on Twitter (and here, too) saying he committed suicide and did try to speak reason to some of them, but once the knuckleheads get ideas in their heads, you can't shift it. I still think he probably died of a heart attack, which is natural causes. But we'll have to wait until the coroner's report is released to find out what exactly happened.

Didn't he have a history of drug abuse when he was younger? It could have been an overdose related to a relapse in mental struggles etc.

It is kinda strange watching the first episode knowing he's no longer with us

The police found no drugs or drug paraphernalia in his hotel room. They didn't find anything suspicious about his death. Jock did not have cancer or any current mental health issues. Your post is just parroting the bullshit The Daily Mail started and has since retracted and apologized for.

You yourself posted you think he had a heart attack.....

how is that nay differrent to the stuff you are complaining about?

For the record, the wife reckons he had a michael hutchence style belt accident.

So no one is allowed to speculate?

I didn't say "this is how he died" - I asked a question.

FWIW, I hadn't read much about his death and hadn't seen anyone talk much about his drug history etc. I also hadn't read anywhere that there was no drugs found etc.

This was a reasonable assumption, given he was an otherwise fit and healthy man. A heart attack is considered a natural cause of death. But, since you chose to misquote me, I also said we should wait until the coroner's court declares its verdict on the cause before rushing into wild theories of suicide, drug overdoses, cancer, etc.
