Monday April 18th starts the 14th season of Masterchef with fans versus faves show (highly unoriginal). There'll be 12 returning contestants including Billie, Julie Goodwin, Minoli, & Tommy.

Although Allen won’t give anything away, MasterChef fans can expect a shock exit.

“It’s massive,” he said.

“I can’t say what it is. There is something that happens to one of the contestants that ultimately sends them home. It’s such a blindside.

“You would never think this would happen to that individual. It shocked us as judges. It shocked the production. It shocked the contestants.

“But it’s reality. And it’s what sent that person home.”

Enjoyed the first ep some great dishes. Will be interesting to see if we can get a dual winner from either Billie Julie or Sashi.

A shame Rose couldn't come back she was a favorite for sure :)

I think the cake bit was just a tad under, but the rest was perfect, and the dish heroes the raspberries. The favs dessert didn't hero the raspberries, and the white chocolate mouse overpowered the dish, and that's why they lost. That's how I saw it.

I like Billie and Montana the most.

I know the girl that did the cake is a good cook though.

They love Tommy maybe it is the fact I’m in Sydney but we have Vietnamese food everywhere it’s nothing special he’s doing I see it on every single menu.

I liked the fish last night though.
 
I liked the looks of Julie's soup, I just wanted to smash that. I wonder how far Harry can go just doing vegetarian stuff. She's going to have to cook some protein eventually. One thing is for sure, there are some seriously good cooks this season.

Prefer this format get rid of the ordinary ones let’s be real in every top 24 there’s maybe 8 good cooks. 12 is a nice amount.
 
The previous winners would have to be early favorites as well as Michael who was runner-up in S3

Call me cynical but the final 4 will be 2 favs and 2 fans. If I were to guess Billie to win.
