I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates him. He sulks when he doesn't win, is always putting down the other contestants, I can guarantee that he will throw a tantrum & cry if he doesn't win. Please, please let that happen, OH & for Matt to explode like that fat guy from the "Meaning of Life". :D

only contestant that says what he thinks.

but it would be good for him to go so we can be left with 6 bland personalities.

Well TBH I would prefer 6 bland personalities that can cook over 6 whizz's that stuff up every 2nd challenge. (Not that Chris can't cook, but its not like the personalities should count against em winning MasterChef)

OH shit, I am agreeing with Zeke.

No point having a personality who is just a good ordinary cook, they are looking for someone to become a masterchef, something Chris isn't capable of.

He is one dimensional, everything he cooks is food that he wants served in his beer bar.

Are you now? :p

I reckon Poh can win this. She's an artist so her presentation will always be better than the others. She's a better cook than most give her credit for IMO and in the pressure test she owned everyone else big time.

HA HA HA, Mr Hat stuffed up yet again, keeps trying to show he is so much better than the others, when he isn't. He might be alright cooking in a beer house with steak & chips, but he'll never be a fine food Chef.

Actually Chris is better then the others except Justine who is roughly on his level. If you'd seen the dishes he's cooked so far you'd realise he's more then steak & chips and has the makings of a fine chef even though many of the things he's cooked don't appeal to me. Don't let your dislike of the guy cloud your judgement.

Having said that he did stuff up big time tonight.

Chris has stuffed up 4 or so challenges across the whole series not 1 out of 2. Along with Justine he's the best there. Andre and Poh have flashes of brilliance but are inconsistent, Julie has become consistent but at a mundane level.

Gary was interviewed on radio this morning, and announced the format of the final week.

Anyone want it posted, or not 'spoilt'?

Is it really a spoiler? I'd like to hear what the format is considering they're going in with 6 contestants.

It's final six, with one eliminated on each night of the week.

Excellent.

I just hope they don't decide the winner on a silly taste test or basic challenge.
Hopefully they find a way to factor in their performances throughout the series when deciding who wins.

Whats wrong with that ?

All restaurants specialise. I don't go to a Chinese restaurant and expect to see pasta on the menu.

Never suggested he has stuffed up that much, just used his name as an example.

A few points from tonight's show:

* Very sad to see Andre go. I've been on his bandwagon since day one and whilst he'd had a good run, i was hoping he'd at least make it to the final week.

* Chris totally psyched Andre out from the start.
Chris turned on the bravado early (and quite deliberately), and it seemed to unnerve Andre.

* George's comments about Andre were brilliant, and his observations were also one of the reasons i became a fan early on.
His passion, creativity and drive are all vital ingredients for successful chefs, so in that regard, he's well on his way.

* The show is certainly poorer for Andre's exit as he's easily the most entertaining personality amongst the last 7.

* It was awesome to see that Andre's got a firm offer from Stroobant in Singapore.
I hope he takes it because it'd be a wonderful experience and one that would take him outside his Italian-themed food comfort zone, which can only be a good thing for his growth as a cook/chef.

another observation. Andre is an absolute fool

why would he decide to punt on curry powder? if he wasn't sure he should have gone for the basics

salt, pepper or stock. he didn't even have a go at lamb, i understand that they were probably saving these components for the very end but why would you take a guess when you know these ingredients are in the dish?

i couldn't smell or taste the curry and i got more right than him.

LOL, exact same thing I said.

I was screaming at the TV saying "Salt & Pepper" "Lamb!" etc.

So far I don't think anyone has actually gone for the salt and/or pepper in the taste tests, maybe only Sam who went for Salt IIRC.

From memory, not one person who has done the taste test has actually gone for salt or pepper.

It's not because they're all 'fools', it's because they're under extreme pressure and in the rush to find new, obtuse ingredients in the dish, they seem to forget the basic ingredients.

another ingredient that no one has mentioned yet is 'love' :D

I reckon they would get away with it too

It wouldn't be a genuine curry if it didn't have a hair in it as well (#Would have worked as well for the moussaka).

I loved the themes and ideas in tonights show (the $10 challenge, the choice of cuts from the goat etc.), but once Julia chose the goat, the rest of the show became predictable.

Chris was always going to win so it was a bit of an anticlimax for me but hopefully tomorrow's mystery box challenge (which, from the promo, appears to be a dessert based challenge) brings the excitement that tonight lacked.

Yeah I liked the differences as well. Basing the ingredients chosen on a dollar value is a better option than time based IMHO. Thankfully Poh didn't win anything tonight, and tonight was the first time I really thought Chris went overboard in his arrogance when he won. Great dish though his dish was mouthwatering even watching it through the TV.

Ahh, so after they see Poh fail horridly at cooking a piece of meat they rush back to the only thing she is good at!

Jeez that Chris is an absolute w***er.

The way the producers have shown Chris to us has changed over the last few weeks.

Throughout the first 7-8 weeks they portrayed him as talented, confident and easygoing, but over the last few weeks they've definitely changed their approach and focused on his arrogance, condescending nature and obnoxiousness.

I've no doubt he's been arrogant from the start, but only recently have they edited the program in such a way that it's obvious to everyone watching that Chris thinks he's a class above and has the competition won.

They've obviously done it because they want to have someone everyone loves to hate, someone the audience can rally against and watch in the hope that he screws up and gets his comeuppance, if you will.

I've noticed that many (including myself) have gone from liking Chris a lot to hoping he doesn't win the challenges, so their approach has obviously worked.
