Despite this, the stuck up cow rarely goes an episode without telling us that she won a beauty contest.

She's actually not dumb but her voice gives the impression that she is.

She's a nice 'girl next door' type and i like her, but i'm sure there are some who think she's very ordinary.



She's a good sort but they've barely shown her so far, so either she leaves the show early or she's about as interesting as a tea towel.

BTW Despite the wanky clothes, Matt Preston is brilliant and easily the best thing about the show.

Girl in the blue isn't attractive at all either. To plain Jane, no redeeming features.

And it is ironic you say that about the attractive blonde one, I only picked her out after I saw her on the website, I couldn't remember ever seeing her in the show.
You're right, you can tell who is sticking around till the end from the amount of screen time they get and I'm guessing the blonde chick goes soon.
In saying that though I was really surprised when the vegetarian chick went, she was getting a lot of screen time and getting talked up constantly. Glad she didn't get through though, would have made a mockery of the show, the Masterchef of Australia can only cook you vegies. Terrific.

So disappointed with that episode. F**king 30 minutes of watching people vote.

This series had unbelievable potential and the ratings are going well. Got a feeling they will suffer a letdown now. So many people who don't normally watch reality television are tuning in and after that abomination tonight they will probably tune out.

I can barely accept the voting aspect but at least make it like Hells Kitchen and let the judges/chefs have the final say.

I really never got to see the original Masterchef, but what are Ten doing differently to the original Masterchef? (BTW That is a genuine question, not a smart arse remark)

I have to say I don't mind it, yes it focuses way too much on the conflict and people(Much like a Hell's Kitchen/US Kitchen Nightmares), but the show is alright for a watch every night at 7pm.

6 contestants per night.
In the first 10 mnutes each is given the same ingredients to make a dish out of. Best three progress. Worst three are eliminated.

Next 5-8 minutes, three winners cook in a professional kitchen.

Last 5-8 minutes, three winners cook two dishes of their own choosing. Judges decide who the winner is and progresses to weekly final.

Repeat for next 4 nights.

On the last night of the week the daily winners cook a 3 dish meal of their own choosing.Winner decided by judges who progresses to semi finals.

Repeat for 6 weeks until there are six finalists.

First week of semi finals, 6 finalists are pared down to 3 via a series of challengers. Judges decide who gooes through.

Last week the finalists participate in challengers (which are fantastic) jntil winner is decided on the last night.

Everything is decided by the judges. The contestants don't have any say on who stays or goes and importantly its all about the food....

They have just turned it into Big Brother with cooking involved. If they have to do it like a elimination style them having the judges have a say who actually know their stuff would be a much better idea. I don't know if I will keep watching if they don't start cooking, I only watch it to learn a few tips in the kitchen. I don't care about the drama, if I did I would watch Home and Away.

I knew they'd spend the whole half hour on it when they used the first two minutes showing the exact same thing we saw the previous night.

I looked at the clock when they went to a break after Kate's vote and it was 7.17, so they'd revealed one vote in 17 minutes.

I heard the judges telling the contestants to think about their votes as they truly want to find the best chef, our first masterchef.
If that was the case then surely the judges should be the ones doing the voting.

Either the judges do the voting or be honest about it being a 'game', not a true contest to find the best chef.

Knew it would be a crap show compared to the original masterchef, but it isnt even the same show. Totally different and worse off for it.

Yeah but the contestants didnt know when they signed up that there would be peer votes - understandable as they probably thought it may follow a UK masterchef format.

Then good old Fremantle Media, kings of tear jerk, 'emotion driven' reality tv shows got their hands on it and suddenly it became what it is.

The contestants didnt realise that they would play an integral role in removing other contestants and obviously for some this was not what they signed up for and it had an impact on them.
