Given we only know him from the show, why would you be amazed that people like him?

Good for the show in that he creates talking points and doesn't sit on the fence.

Personally though, if his on-show persona accurately reflects him as a person I'd have little interest in having anything to do with him. Rubs me up completely the wrong way.

Absolutely.

Fair enough.

From what i've seen, i think he'd be a cracking bloke and i certainly think the show is far better for having him involved.

Aaron?

How someone hasn't stabbed him is baffling to me. What a flange.

Reckon Trevor would be the only one that I could confidently say will make it through tonight. Really hard to make any judgement on who will go tonight. Going on what we saw last night, if Kate can somehow convince a couple of others about Sandra's rissotto, then she might be in a bit of trouble.

I still think she's a drama queen but Kate made the right call tonight:thumbsu:

And I must say I was quite shocked based on the opinion I'd formed of her character.

Was the right decision in the end, pretty selfless from Kate too, but I think she realised that a) She is still very young and will be able to get work almost anywhere now and b) She didn't have the overall tools to be Masterchef.

Some of you might praise Kate's decision but it just showed she didn't have the balls to kick someone off. Just shows that she wouldn't be able to make it in a pressure situation as a head chef. I hope she goes and starts her little pastry shop and does well.

How obvious was it at the start the female host goes "If there are an equal amount of votes Kate you have to decide who goes.". This is the first time this was happened from memory and made me think there was going to be a tie at the start + the ad showing she had to make a big decision.

I missed tonights episode (recorded it, though), but after seeing the results, i don't know what to think.

Did Kate do what she did to be magnanimous and noble, or did she do it because she couldn't handle being disliked and unpopular and really wanted to go home?

Either way, i think it's a good result for the show and certainly should spice things up a bit now Sam doesn't have either of his running buddies to rely on.

In the end it wasn't what she wanted to do - obviously her interest is pastry, not being an allrounder. She realised that the others wanted the main prize of being a head chefish sortof person more and so let them have it.

Also from this point on I know no more about the show haha - that might give you an idea about who I know :D:D

is it just me or is justine getting sexier every episode?

hubba hubba!

She is top notch, also getting a lot more screen time, that could be the 'getting sexier' thing, she is getting plenty of screen time now and showing off her absolute beauty.

Yup, Justine is quality!

Back to Kate, well done for knowing when your time is up, and moving on with class and dignity. Hope she goes well back in Perth.

Did anyone else see the 'hickey' on Sams neck when he was voting out that older woman!!!

I reckon he's porking that younger chick, defiantly has something going on with her.

His wife came to visit over the Easter break when the latest eppisode was filmed.

He got married the day before the show started filming. His wife is a strict muslim and has a very traditional family, so definitely not.

Best episode yet tonight, FANTASTIC, everything cooked looked absolutely delicious, gonna be trying out a few of those dishes myself.

I was disappointed by the 'core ingredient' options last night.

I was expecting black pudding or perhaps pork sausages, but instead we got very generic options (fish, strawberries and lamb).

The idea of the 'core ingredient' choice is that it's a reward for the winner of the mystery box challenge, but like with Tom last week, it's difficult to gain any advantage when everyone has used and is very familiar with all three ingredients.

They need have some unique options available, that way the mystery box winner can actually make a strategic choice, a choice that may lead to some entertaining dishes given some of the contestants may not have seen or used the ingredient before.

It was great to see Justine finally win something.
I've been a fan from the start and was surprised by the lack of attention she was getting early on, but now she's become more prominent and i'm loving it.
I just hope she doesn't suffer from the poisoned chalice that is the team leader slot come elimination time later in the week.

I was disappointed to see Sandra in the bottom three (i thought her dish looked great), but i think it's fair to say that Aaron, Julie and Sandra are three weakest chefs there, so it's probably a decent call to have them fighting it out tonight.
Hopefully Aaron goes, and if not him, then Julie.

Once again Aaron proves just how useless he is cooking very basic food. The bloke is delusional if he thinks he is remotely close to chef material... definitely time for him to go.

Julie can cook basic stuff well, but struggles out of her comfort zone and does have the temperament or composure when under the pump.

Chris and Poh (sp?) have been the stand outs so far... and I think Lucas is a dark horse.

Why the hell would they include sausages? Judges would have been tasting numerous versions of bangers and mash.

The core ingredients need to be diverse and must fit in with the theme of the challenge. The fish, strawberries and lamb offered were very different, very British, and allow a decent cook to go in virtually any direction if they have half a clue.

The core ingredient choices are not meant to be obscure, they are meant to be symbolic of the theme and allow the contestants to be creative.

Problem was Julie has a very limited range in what she can cook, thus went for the safest option of a leg of lamb. I personally would have chosen the seafood and done a very English fish pie.

These 2 are definately the favourites. Not sure about the Lucas call, he seems to me a bit like Andre, who just is middle of the road, doesn't get much attention from the cameras, is never the best and is never the worst. Barring a disaster, I would expect Chris and Poh to be there at the end.
