Is it just me or was there an ad for a later episode and it showed Poh, Andre, Geni and not Sandra.
Therefore, I believe Sandra will be eliminated in tonights episode

Thanks - I was trying to avoid that.

Can you or Mods please edit ?

Noticed that aswell, during SVU.... hmmm Channel 10's programming department need a swift kick in the nuts. They've also previewed other shows in advance that gave away other results (most recently with The Biggest Loser in its final few weeks).

They've done this before as well the idiots, when it was Sam and someone up for eviction, but then they showed the Sunday night preview and Sam was in it.

Just monumentally stupid.

Yeah, last week they showed Sam not knowing what kakavia (however it is spelt) is in a promo for Sunday night's show before the elimination episode between him and Trevor.

How lucky has Poh been?
By my count that's four times she's miraculously avoided elimination.
First she was the only one shown to be given a second chance at the auditions, then she served up raw lamb and somehow wasn't put in the bottom three, then the last two weeks where she's totally crumbled under pressure yet amazingly avoided elimination.

Beggars belief how, after showing terrible leadership and totally screwing up the prep for her own dish, that she managed to avoid getting even a single vote.

Either she's the luckiest woman in the country or the producers really like her.

Speaking of luck, Geni has slipped under the radar extremely well throughout.
I can't remember her ever having a top 3 dish yet she hasn't even had one vote cast against her, has she? She's probably the weakest cook left now Sandra has gone, so you'd think that'll catch up with her soon.

Yeah don't know about this. What has happened is that Poh and Andre, being mates have got together and said, lets vote Sandra out. They have gone to Geni and said, we are voting Sandra out, so either you're with us or you and Sandra can vote against 1 of us, but Poh has the casting vote and Sandra will be gone anyway in that scenario. Geni, looking at not creating a potential enemy in Poh or Andre down the track, has sensibly voted for Sandra.

Did anyone else see the article in the paper this morning where George gave his thoughts on the remaining contestants?

He basically said that his favourites for the title are Chris and Justine, with Lucas their major threat.

He said Sam is a nice bloke but lacks knowledge and doesn't work hard enough, whilst he said Julie has done really well and he has no doubt she'll own a successful cafe in the near future.

The rumours are that Poh works on her networking pretty hard so so thats why the others won't vote for her.

Good on her if true, very smart tactic.

The constant leniency she has received from the judges throughout the show is a weird one, though.
Whilst she creates some diversity on the show (which they clearly wanted given the group they chose), she hasn't exactly got a big personality like Julie, Chris or Sam.

I actually quite like her and have done from the start, but she's done amazingly well to still be there given the dish she served up at the auditions and the string of other disasters and near misses she's had.

is justine the most gorgeous chef ever?

A close second to this fine creature:

Just FYI Poh wasn't the only one given a second chance at auditions, there were a couple of people who were given a second chance that we got to see.

I actually think Brent might have been one?

And I am almost 100% sure Nic was one too.

Might be wrong on both, but I am 100% sure that Poh wasn't the only one who got the second chance at her audition.

Also you can't really blame the contestants voting out Poh on the Producers liking her, surely?

I actually think Sandra deserved the axe, she had taken over Aaron's role of most arrogant douche on the show.

Friend of mine who applied for this show and is of asian appearance was given a 'second' chance to come back and cook something asian and he declined and left.

TV tokenism at its finest, I have no doubt they did their best to bring as many ethnicities as possible into the show.

Discrimination I tells ya, it's not the first time TV have discrimintated, they have do it all the time, like on the biggest loser, IT WAS FULL OF FAT PEOPLE!!!, like if you weren't fat you couldn't get on it. Someone better call Cochrane cos this a terrible injustice....

She was the only person i saw getting a second chance, complete with camera in her car, camera at her mothers house etc.

A tad unusual.

I don't remember seeing either of those getting second chances.

Huh? That doesn't make sense.

I said that she's been given numerous extra chances, starting at the audition phase and continuing throughout the run of the show.

Of the four extra chances i mentioned, all bar the last one have come at the hands of the judges/producers, which is way i asked if she was just really lucky or whether the producers really liked her.

I actually think Sandra deserved the axe, she had taken over Aaron's role of most arrogant douche on the show.

On overall performance? Absolutely.
On performance in the challenge? No way.

As i said previously, Sandra was the weakest contestant left so i'm not too fussed she left, but there is no way she was worse in the challenge than Poh.

:D

Well played.

Chris should of been voted out when he cooked the raw chicken when he was captain.

but no one complained about that because he was seen as one of the best cooks.

That's the whole point, Poh isn't one of the best cooks on the show. She would be if she didn't fall to pieces everytime there was some pressure.

My random thoughts on tonight's episode.

* Loved the format and ingredient choices for the invention test.

* Really loved the creativity Poh showed in the mystery box challenge.

* The invention test confirmed the pecking order of the show, with Chris and Justine well out in front and the rest jostling for a spot in the top three.

* Julie's two dishes looked the best, by far.

* I felt for Andre. I love his creativity (and passion) but he needs to temper it if he wants to succeed.
He's obviously one of the more talented cooks there, he just needs to know his limitations.

* Sam did well to avoid the bottom three, but his glaring lack of depth, both in terms of knowledge and technique, was again evident.

* Chris is simply brilliant at managing his time (aside from that one team challenge).
Whilst everyone else is panicking, he is always calm, clean and efficient.

* Geni has great technique, but she seems to really lack the passion and creativity needed to win the title.

* The choice of bottom three was probably a fair call.
I'll be very disappointed if Andre goes, both because i love his passion, desire and willingness to put his balls on the line, but because i actually think he's very talented.
If i had to pick someone to go home, it'd be Geni.
Enough though Poh has had many chances, she's more interesting than Geni and far more likely to create something outstanding (or something totally dreadful), so i'd much rather be watching her over the next few weeks.

* I don't want to see Justine leave our screens but i hope she spanks that smarmy flog, Moran.

Justine & Chris are well in front of the rest of the contestants. The rest are almost making up the numbers now. I do like that Poh and Andre have a crack at some different dishes, but it's going to be their undoing. Still, should be a pretty interesting pressure test tomorrow night.

is a bit like Aaron, all very well to take risks but if you dont pull them off enough well then it shows they both have a lot to learn and because of that i question his talent.

how many dishes has he had chosen to take up? maybe 2 i remember one had bones in it. has he ever been in the top 3 after the invention test?

What are the odd's that tommorow, there will be no chance of Poh plating up a dish after a disaster and then after the commercial break she will have a dish plated up.

I would say its a definite, not because of her cooking but creative editing does wonders with time related challenges. I am already annoyed at the way they cut the footage of the final seconds pretending everyone is in a mad rush when they probably are not.
