for those that have Foxtel and like cooking shows that are competitive- try Masterchef UK “The Professionals”. It’s much better. All the contestants are already professionals in the industry so the standard is higher, they don’t do all that red team v blue team or immunity bullshit, but most of all there isn’t a major sponsor in the background turning every show into a massive advertisement. I don’t mind that show. Can’t watch Masterchef Australia at all because there is so much sh*t. And I like cooking and even some cooking shows
Can actually see the process too . I think this version of Master chef (UK Professionals ) was the template before the version we have here .

I think so. Or Masterchef UK was the template - which is regular people cooking, but without all the Australian show psychodrama. Then UK invented the “professionals” formula and the seem to have ditched the regular version. I enjoy it. If you are going to watch a competition cooking show I’d much rather watch people who are pro to start with. Then you actually get to see people cook specialised weird s**t, rather than * up a mass casserole serving then weep in front of a camera.

I could be alone on this. I really like cooking and read books and s**t about it. Heaps of people find it a bore

Maybe they are trying to avoid the bit where you waste a long part of your life being paid well under what you're legally required to be paid?

You mean the bit where they actually learn how to do their craft properly?

Because you know, that's what talented people do, they learn their craft.

I typed one very straight forward sentence mate. Give it another go.

I really enjoy cooking too. Maybe that's what made this season better is that most contestants basically were pros and run their own restaurant/food business. Seemed a lot less about the sob stories/'journey' (though that got a solid run later in the season esp with COVID starting to bite) and more about the food.

Great British Menu > Masterchef UK “The Professionals”

Although I can't stand the pompous judges.
