According to Trigg the defining thing that got Craig over the line in the selection process was his ability to teach, educate, impart knowledge to the youngsters. Where hsi proven ability to do this comes from I'm not sure but that is besides the point.

The question I am asking is what is more important in the overall scheme of things.
1. Choose someone who can teach supposedly better than the other candidate and who is a novice as a head coach. or
2. Choose someone with past experience who is as good a match day tactician as any going around

The AFC obviously believe the first is more important, losing games through poor coaching on match day is just a by product of having the best trained footballers, who subsequently may be played out of position, but at least they are well educated.

Who do you suggest?
To be fair Craig's strength from his norwood days has been his player dvelopment. The ones he developed ended up in the AFL.

Personally I would have appointed the 2nd option but had someone who is a good teacher as a development coach

Micken must go & replacing him with Rehn would be a good start IMO.
Rehn is contracted and his only out is for a senior AFL coaching gig.
Uncle doug might let him go for a fair settlement though.

Contract runs out at the end of the year apparently;)

If we don't get Rahn I would poah Pittman from the power
Pitto is likely to leave the Power, but not for the Crows, as he is busy with his job.

Kane as purely a ruck coach alone its not a full time job. Mickan does have other responsibilities such as development coach and helping out Jars witht eh forward line.

Ruck coach alone is not a full time job.

Ah yes Stiffy, but when you are also involved in another Business and the coaching job occurs at odd hours during the middle of the day that would interfere with any other position that you work at

It hasn't at port so why would it at Adelaide. He is still there on matchdays and for training. He owns his own business and adjusts hours accordingly;)

I didn't know that he worked for himself, I thought he might work for a company and that he would have a boss above him, and that would cause some problems. Also taking into account his particular job has time constraints (what times the market opens and closes).
Kane did say that he might leave the power at the end of the year as his job has been busy.
