Unfortunately I think Jai is in trouble. Hopefully it's a fine and nothing more. I haven't read the new MRO stuff so am unsure what the minimal penalty is if he's cited, which I think he will be.

Sucks for Cam, he needs consistency. He looked better last night so would have been great for him to crack in again next week. There's still a big watch on his up and under kicks though. Hopefully it's a mild concussion and we have him back for the scum.

I though Mraz was beaten but also looked good in moments. As a young key back I think that's all you need at this stage to suggest he'll get his opportunity to develop into a genuine senior footballer.

I hope we give Butler more CBAs in Cam's (and maybe Jai's) absence. I love his tenacity and closing pace at the contest. He's handy up forward too. I think he certainly plays round 0.

Wiz looks ready for a big year, Ward looks more hardened. And Gunners looks like he may have another 50+ year.

Also, I think Croc has looked at home in the mids. I don't know if he'll ever be a full time mid but we don't need him to be. He certainly gives us a more dynamic edge around the contest.

Bring on next week :)

I’ve been saying for the best part of a year & it’s a hill I’m willing to die on..
our forward structure looks at its best when it is Chol, Gunston & Dear
The modern game has moved past Mitch Lewis.. I think Ramma would even be a better option at this stage.. we all look back fondly on his 10 game patch in 2023 where he looked absolutely elite.. but he is too cumbersome & can’t get down to the ground ball & needs silver service to be effective.. great depth option for the season but I wouldn’t be upset if he excercised his FA status at the end of the season.. Shubert & Ramma are the future along with Dear

I agree on the first bit, but don't agree that the game has moved past Lewis.
His only concern is staying fit.

Lewis is still a monster KP forward.
I just think we no longer need him, and he is unreliable.

If Gunston retires this season, it may open up a spot for Lewis next year without upsetting the balance.

The game is moving past the lumbering key forward who can’t over much else.. I think when Gunners retires Shuey or Ramma would be better options as they run all day & have a fair bit of toe where Lewis looks like he is running in the mud

Love good overreactions from a pre season game.

Gunners will kick 3 goals a game every week this year based purely on his football smarts and wiles.

He is like the old bugger who dominates the local squash club by hitting the ball all over the court making the young fellas tire themselves out chasing it.

He could probably play till he is 40 and still kick 40 to 50 goals a year (he doesn’t seem to age).

Wiz looks ready to absolutely explode this year, his biggest issue is teaching himself to ease off the gas a little bit as he plays the game full throttle from go to wo.

Anyone know when we can expect an MRO finding? Should get off but knowing the AFL, he will get a week. New rules favour Jai though as he had one arm pinned

Where can I find info about these new rules? A few google searches gave me nothing.

OMG the panic sooking in the thread is next level.
Add that to the whinging about the commentators & umpires. Some things ya look forward to on BF, some things ya don't

Why are people even talking about jai being suspended? Along with an arm being free to protect himself/drop the footy the Medical report would have to say richards is concussed . If he goes for that it might be the first year i really don't bother with.
Because subconsciously everyone knows hawthorn gets a rough deal (remember, only player to be done for attempted striking in the last 40 years is a hawthorn player)

Not reading to much into a preseason game. The boys did look heavy on the feet and lack off accountability in the midfield and half-forwards. All of our mids played under 80% Time on ground.

i get the middle it looked like C-mac and Mackensie were encourage to get as much exposure while trying to keep Ward 9 (CBA) Moore 5 (CBA) out.

Defensively went in with 2 KPD plus Scrimshaw,Battle,Weddle it was annoying we lacked a genuine ball mover in Amon absence.

The tall fwds was my only concern they will need to lift! Plenty of talent waiting in the wings granted the fwd 50 entry were dismal.

As long as we win next week none of this matters!
