One day his lack of discipline is really going to cost Chelsea. It's normally stupid things, but a yellow card doesn't seem to change his approach at all.

If refs had any balls, he'll struggle to see out a game.

Keep hearing that. But the bloke has now got away with it for two years

True, but wouldnt you prefer him to just wind his neck in? You never know when your luck is going to run out, and it could cost Chelsea dearly in an important game.

For no discernable benefit.

I would love to see him get done for surrounding a ref like twice in five minutes.

It's won them quite a lot of points over that time though. He'd need to cost them 3-4 games for it to be not be balanced in his favour.

Big games are also more likely to have refs bottle it and not make a big call against him I reckon

I don't know that it's won them that many points. Maybe a few games against Arsenal, but in the main the points he's won for Chelsea he would have won for them if he didn't act like a twat.

Thinking of a few arsenal games. And just the general way they pressure the ref think that would have gotten them a fair few decisions that would have lead to a few points here and there over two seasons. Also how much it throws off the opponent dealing with a thug who gets away with it. He is a fantastic villain who serves a purpose in a team like that. If a player like that played at a Burnley or Swansea it'd get them relegated but it works at Chelsea

I assumed you were responding to people on here. What is reddit saying?
Soz, been busy since.
Here's a few comments:
"It's astonishing how he keeps getting away with stuff like this. Dirty player"
"Seriously why does this campaigner get away with this? He's so ****ing reckless."
"The ****er even has the gall to start wagging his finger like there was no contact, or Adrian was exaggerating. Dirty campaigner." when he was actually acknowledging the foul
"New season, same campaigner."
"Once a campaigner, always a campaigner. And I thought he extended his hand out of worry for his colleague.. Nope, he just wanted to point out that there's no foul.."
"**** this guy, i hope he gets suspended nonetheless. Piece of shit."
"Ah. The three absolutes in life...Death, taxes, and Costa being a dirty campaigner."

I don't think there was anything dirty or campaignery about it. It was a sliding attempt to intercept the ball, but mistimed and caught the leg. It wasn't a stamp, it wasn't a kick (which he's prone to do), but a genuine bad tackle. But people don't look beyond the fact it's Costa.

Ok everyone except Tottenham fans are entitled to whinge about Costa. Looks like a red yep.

But Tottenham who should've had 4 or 5 reds last time they played Chelsea received how many exactly?

Yep time to be quiet Tottenham fans and be thankful you didn't stRt the season with 5 players banned. Pretty much assaulted Hazard for 45 minutes.

So bitter about what Chelsea did to you last season. The mental scars are so obviously there. I can only imagine this will last all season long (and beyond).

I do love the Tottenham obsession with Chelsea though and can only imagine this will be a recurring theme this season. Your only chance for the title for a long time stopped by Chelsea.

Hard to accept the criticisms of fans who turn a blind eye to their club who assaults their oppositions best player. Do we need to play a compilation of the Hazard tackles from last season?

lol nice try.

Making a comment on a controversial incident that received a lot of attention is obsession?

Ok then.

The beIN experts are split: did West Ham United FC 'keeper Adrian deserve a kick from Diego Costa for attempting to play like a midfielder, as argued by Steve McClaren? Or do you side with Peter Reid, who thinks Costa should have seen red for a disgraceful challenge?

Yes it should have been a second yellow but comments referring to his tackle as malicious/intentional are just ridiculous.
He was absolutely entitled to try and win the ball and subsequently score the easiest of goals. Why would he have any other intention ?
Costa might be a lot of things, stupid he is not.

Matchday 6 last season says hello. Down from the high horse pal.
Lot's of cheering, excuses made when Costa got Gabriel sent off and lashed out at Koscielny.
So will you lot refrain from mentioning and commenting on Arsenal indiscretions?

Couldn't care less about Arsenal. Most harmless club going around. But for your information we are discussing a team based tactic to assault one player, you are talking about Costa being a dick.... He does this to every side, not just Arsenal. Only relevant sides get special attention.

No. Your assertion was we couldn't comment on the grub because we apparently "turn a blind eye to their club who assaults their oppositions best player." yet you're content with the hypocrisy because it was Arsenal. :thumbsu:
