Wasn't offside. The first ball was never going to Vardy and then it hit the Newcastle defender.

Dude, it was offside. Unless you're a better judge than every pundit on every broadcast covering the game.

Not that it matters. Just another very line-ball decision that could have gone either way. But to say "it wasn't offside" is not correct. By the letterof the law it was off-side. Just take it and be happy.

Every pundit you say? The BBC agreed it wasn't.

He wasn't involved with the ball in and once the Newcastle defender deliberately played at the ball (and made a meal of it, he's fine.

For the record, this is from Fifa/FA:

Offside position

It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.

Offence

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:

  • interfering with play or
  • interfering with an opponent or
  • gaining an advantage by being in that position

Vardy wasn't interfering in play, wasn't interfering with an opponent and did not gain an advantage prior to the Newcastle defender playing at the ball unchallenged. Once the Newcastle player played the ball unchallenged, Vardy was no longer offside.

Did my refereeing course the other day so I agree with you. :P :thumbsu:

With Arsenal & City falling off the pace & United / Chelsea / Liverpool nowhere near the top of the ladder it will be a huge failure for Spurs not to win the title from here. There will never be a better chance for them.
What are you some kind of prophet?

No one expected us to finish in the top 4 this season, let alone win the league. It's all gravy.

TC does have a point, and yet many would say this season has been the most exciting ever. Plus the league just keeps getting richer and richer, with Money pouring in from all over the world. I suppose this will have ramifications for La Liga down the line

Every title winner has needed a bit of 'luck' to become champions (such as Citeh and the infamous Gerrard slip at Anfield)

Still not counting out Tottenham yet, Spurs are the Foxes only legit threat to the crown, but still LCFC are the favourites.

this season is so exciting because its remarkable how a league with so much money flowing through is at its lowest standard at the top end ever.
as ive said before the top 4 this season wouldnt be anywhere near top 6 during the SAF/Invincible seasons

SAF reckons Leicester will win the title. Good enough for me, let's call it a day and give them the title. Never going to be a more deserving side winning a league title than Leicester.
lol what.

I am sure Arsenal's unbeaten season, or Chelsea's record points haul might have something to say. Or several teams United amassed over the years.

O'rly?

We already have more points than Liverpool in 4th and are every chance to catch at least United, if not Chelsea.

Nah I don't agree. There was a little golden age between around 2003-2010, but outside of that the standard of the top 4 compares to all others.

The invincibles wouldn't go unbeaten in this league. And the Mou teams of the mid 00's wouldn't be able to rack up 90 odd points like they did either.

Impossible to prove. Something we will never know.

But we can summise and give opinions.

And overall the league is far stronger now, and that's a given. Not even sure the invincibles would win the title in this season

It's like any hypothetical really. Hard to prove. I could say we'd be top of the league if we had a back up striker. Just as plausible that the back up striker is a bust and we're on fewer points.

Impossible to prove. Something we will never know.

Can't prove, but pretty clear the depth in the league is far stronger than it used to be.

I agree with all but the bolded.

Let's be serious mate. Are you saying this Leicester side is better than that Arsenal side? Come on, man. That side was incredible.
