I doubt it but its possible. I'd rather see another running small player like Adkins brought in though. We actually don't have that many medium/small forwards in our squad and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Judd given a run through the forward line for a bit as well.

I guess we could always use Porno as a Hachett-man to take out half their players... hmmm... :D

Sumich was in the Bill Walker room after the game, and he said there is a high chance there will be a few changes come selection night for Brisbane.

He even mentioned, "Willow might get a run, but we'll see". Then the whole crowd start cheering.

We definitely missed a tall leading forward on Sunday. Must have happened at least 3 or 4 times when Matera lead out and was just too short to take the mark.

If Wilson doesn't get a go this week, he may as well hand his uniform in....
On a brighter note for him though, at least he'll get to play in a Grand Final this year.

Just about the worst news we could get. Cousins is our best player, Gardiner our most important but Matera....well we all saw what happened to us when he didnt play this season.

Matera out for 2 though may mean he only misses the one game. Correct me if im wrong but dont we play Brisbane and then have the bye the next weekend. That would be nice timing as we need Matera to miss as little of the season as possible.

It's also annoying because I honestly believe he is a shot at the coleman. He still leads the competition by 2 goals from Lloyd and 4 goals from Neitz. Lloyd has missed two games but Matera has also missed one game. Neitz hasnt missed any.

Lloyd would be tough to beat but the way Matera is playing and kicking goals I dont see why he couldnt win it. Ah well, maybe he will be rewarded in a FP for the AA team, that is a stretch though considering they usually just give the FP's to midfielders.

the real bad news is that it's more like a month that he'll be out for.
well in todays paper it said matera was only out for a week with the strained knee ligaments in the brisbane newspapers.

but that is a major blow if its a month, that will really hurt our setup.

Huge blow if true - hopefully its not too bad and he can get back in a week or two

Time for Wilson IMO, near the end of the game on Sunday we were bombing it into 50 and always being outmarked easily. Wilson would at least provide a strong marking option that Haynes cant provide when the game is on the line... (was he even on the field in the last quarter?)

I don't think Woosha is the sort of bloke to hedge his bets. If you are going to pick a FF then pick a FF. Don't fart around with makeshift FFs like McDougall or Hansen - go with someone who can do the job.

If you want a makeshift FF you already have Haynes. Shift Haynes out to the flank, Willo in one last hurrah at FF (with Mal Michael, Bradshaw out he's a good show) and then bring in McDougall or Hansen or stick with Gas at CHF.

I reckon we've just got to play to win - all out - this week. Don't worry about developing future players, don't look too far ahead to the finals or where they will be played etc. Just put your best team out there and have a red hot go!!! After a disappointing, flat couple of weeks I reckon the boys might be fired up for this challenge this week at least that is what I'm hoping :D

I agree in sending Wilson out there in a hopeful blaze of glory type scenario. Even if he gets suspended for 8 weeks, we can still use him in the finals if desperate.

He could do anything in a one off game up there, might set up our season.

Not sure we'll ever know for sure
