Only clubs I can think of where he could potentially be wanted are Richmond and West Coast. Think the Crows will be stuck with him.

Weren't Freo keen last year? Think they'd be happy with ending up with Will Brodie...
You know, having not put much stock in it last year (I know there were some Adelaide posters saying we were interested), you're probably right that it was likely a choice between him and Brodie and that decision is looking like one of our better ones...

As is Mitchell, I was crediting achievements that Mitchell has achieved that Crouch hasnt

I see you ignored the part about Crouch not getting a game in a bottom 4 side

But I digress, Crouch ain’t worth Jack, while Mitchell would be worth late 1st / Early 2nd (with sweetening)

Completely biased if you think different, your own coach don’t rate him, why would another club
Haha and you're not at all biased..OK.

Teams who are thereabouts but need decent mids should be all over this.

Richmond could probably offer up $1.2 million over 3 years and pay a 4th rounder as a Crows salary dump to get him across. He's a former All Australian in his prime. His impact is debatable but this is clearly an issue that the Crows coach has specifically with him just like the Lyons/Dew situation.
can we do this by docusign just to speed it up before someone at our club changes their mind

It's got nothing to do with being a bottom 4 side, It's our midfield mix, There is just no room for him with Laird performing well and the rest being prioritized youth

Giants have too many inside mids already. Hes not going there

They are about to lose Bruhn, Taranto and possibly one of Hopper or Green. Bringing Matty Crouch in on the cheap would help fill that gap for a couple of years while they reload with picks for the new coach.

If he's coming 'home' I'd think Richmond makes the most sense, assuming they think they can rebound and contend again next year.

If Selwood retires would Geelong want him or do they blood another kid in that spot next year?

He isnt 32, he is 27, and if he isnt getting games over Crabs like McHenry and Jones

For free perhaps

I would hope the club offers to pay all of Matt's contract next year if a club will take him and offer up a reasonable pick (pick in the 30's)

Giants have a lot of mid depth even with departures dont think they need him.

Richmond would be an ok fit.
I doubt selwood retires unless we win a flag and even then it seems we are more into other mids (bruhn hopper de goey)than crouch so i doubt it.

Not entirely sure why people are coming from a 'salary dump' angle. We're the last club that needs to clear salary cap space. He'll be on offer to a club that has a tight salary cap, and Crows would be stupid not to offer to pay his full salary next year in return for a better draft pick. My guess is a mid to late 2nd.

You don’t think a cheap, experienced decent enough inside mid wouldn’t be enticing for a rebuilding side who will be gutting their midfield for the sake of salary cap?

Ok.
I definitely don't think he is wanted at the Giants. Who does he get a game in front of in this midfield? Coniglio, Kelly, Green, Perryman, Ash, Whitfield? That is without including Taranto, Hopper, Bruhn

No one is offering a 2nd for him.

Interesting to see whether another club can see how to extract maximum value from his skillset. Some coaches design game plans around their players, others make the players fit their game plan. Crouch can get plenty of the ball but doesn't hurt teams. He is also slow, so weak defensively, and tends to stop runs of play when he is used in link up runs. But he is a player who will regularly get 30+ possessions, so how do you turn that to your advantage given his weaknesses?

What about North? Provides experienced midfield coverage and may be able to protect the likes of LDU (not that he needs much), Simpkin, Powell, Phillips etc. Wouldn't cost much either.
The last thing they need is a selfish bloke with zero defensive side to his game padding his stats when they are trying to teach the youngsters.

He needs to go to a strong club that will enforce better habits.

I can see him being a fit at Sydney or Richmond. Even Geelong.

I feel like Sydney is the club that can do this.

I highly doubt ceows need to salary dump. In fact they'd probably struggle to he paying 95% of the cap without Crouch on their books.

Adelaide are better off keeping him. Move Laird back to defence and/or Keays to the forward line.

Nah the inside mid stocks are fine at the Crows. Even Hately had a stint in there and was doing pretty well until he got pushed out by Laird/Keays/Berry combo.
