I have little doubt we will give him at least 1 more year, it is how we roll, never want to be brave and cut the cord until it absolutely has to be done. Sort of like last year when we went into the best draft in a decade with two picks and one of those committed to a father son who was showing little and got so fat his instagram lost a follower

Richmond wouldn't go near him, nor would West Coast, just a waste of a list spot that delays their rebuilds. Sydney is interesting, small ground so less exposed. But I reckon we've offer him a 1 year extension at a minimum. Murphy too, but both probably onto the rookie list.

Doubt Richmond would. They already have Prestia and Taranto as experienced mids in there who are both better players. Prestia when he gets on the park, similar to Crouch I guess.

At a quick glance of the league, Essendon, North, Sydney, WC... potentially even Port would be fits for Crouch and the club.

Yeah probably best for both parties to move on at the end of the year. Crouch is still good enough to get games at another club, but we need to prioritise others (Peatling/Berry/Draper need their share of minutes)

Assuming Berry consolidates his place, I would agree.

I don't think their midfield has room for a Crouch type

Essendon doesn't either, they may as well give another year to Dylan Shiel

North and Richmond don't need him. They're both stacked with young mids and some experience around the edges

The only club I could see him going to is West Coast to provide some ball winning while Reid and Hewett develop

I think he gets so much uncontested footy nowadays cause it's be opposition design. Don't worry about guarding him outside of the contest, he's not going to hurt you with it, so use the energy to cut off his short options by hand and cause the turnover that way.

Crouch’s contested possession rate has always been around the 35-40% mark. For context, players like Cripps, Oliver, Green, Libba tend to be around the 50% or higher mark. He has always won a stack of outside ball.

Sam Berry is at 50% this year as a side note. His clearance and contested possession numbers from a small sample size are pretty similar, his tackling is better, and he offers much more flexibility than Matt.

I’ve been a big supporter of Matt’s a lot of the time but we need to move on.
