Good luck!

I hope we don't put all our eggs in 1 basket and rookie some other prospect(s). Wood and Kreuzer aren't getting any younger. Need to get some kids in born since our last premiership.

The unknown is always exciting when there is potential for success. With three rucks we put ourselves in a position where it's made it difficult to lose one. He'll be a very interesting project and hopefully he can become a hitout machine which will give him a great starting foundation to develop the rest of his football on. Great signing, looks a giant!

Timing is interesting, maybe Kreuzer has informed the club of his decision.
This one's been in the bank for a while, just reflects that we need to try and find some senior ruck competition when our #2 is Wood.

Points to whoever makes a golf joke instead of a dick joke.

Good luck to him. Hope he makes the grade! Will watch with interest.

Any clues as to why he was picked over some other options? Other than his booming height what seemed to be the drawcard?

Going off footage and comments, seems to have a better suited athletic profile than many tested, sufficient height for the ruck position, and a clean pair of hands.

All the clubs seemed to be keen on him, but we clearly have the weakest ruck division in the comp so we got the goods.

From the interview on the club site it sounds like he is disappearing for a while? Off season, or do cat B international rookies often not stay at the club or something?

Think he's starting up when the rest of the team start their preseason (November?).

I imagine while our boys are on a break he'll have the chance to head home and see his family.

Well spoken and seems to really have good attitude. Very mature with his physical attributes the lad is well suited to Ruckwork in the AFL. Great physic if this guy get a handle on the game and builds some endurance he will be a very good assets to the team.
Good choice Baggers

Definitely noticed his attitude towards learning first and foremost. Seems like someone who is very self motivated and keen to learn.

That interview is a re-post from when he first came across post-combine.

List manager Stephen Silvagni described Korcheck as a "beast of an athlete".

...but we already have an explosive Beast :p:p:p

I stopped reading the article at that part. ******* hell.

The other bonus to Matty is that he has already spent 3 years in a professional sporting environment.

While college ball players dont get paid, the coaches are on huge money and the basketball squads are run in a similar manner to the way NBA teams are run. What this means for us is that we have signed an athlete that already knows how to conduct himself professionally on and off the field.

I liked the way that he said his two favourite things are

1) tackling
2) how hard AFL players push themselves

So he likes the rough stuff and will push himself. Coverage of the combine & testing highlighted his competitiveness.

Will he pick up enough skills to be useful? Not sure. But sounds like he will give it everything he has got. And if he makes it, he will provide more than just being tall.

Nice
