He had one clean pick up from congestion and hand ball that I saw, that actually looked like Priddis of old.. that was the only time he did it

He's dropped off a cliff this year, he's playing on a HFF and he's lost there. Come on mannnnnnn, you gotta give it up

He so cooked hes burnt, had so much time and space and couldn't even hit Sheed who had worked hard to get a few meters on his opponent.
Also open goal square and couldn't even kick a score from 40m out the ball then rebounds down the other end for a goal.

The N.Jetta walking away fron him was the icing on the cake.
He is such a liability now we don't need him in out team Hutchings, Duggan and Sheed did a good job in the middle without him. Parto is banging down the door with 28 d and 4.2 in the Wafl needs to come in asap!!!!!!

That was the moment when I gave up on Priddis. When I saw him just standing there with his arms out and N. Jetta just turned and walked away from him was the last straw. I would excuse him if he was actually getting his hands on it but he isn't even doing that.

I especially would like to see him out because at least 15 pages of every game thread are spent trashing him, and probably 5 of those are people trashing him for things that even the best players get wrong sometimes (missing a kick, not getting a 50/50 ball, not sticking a tackle). The worm has well and truly turned, and he's going to be the designated whipping boy until he hangs up the boots. So let's get it over with so that people can move on to trashing some other older player.

So what in your opinion is he currently doing that warrants his position in the team?

It is not about "trashing" the man. There are posters here who have previously defended him strongly saying that there is something wrong.

His output has dropped in every measurable way. That isn't "trashing", that is just a fact. When he hangs the boots up he will rightfully be given recognition as one of our greatest club men.

However, while he is still in the 22 and performing below his usual standards and the standards that we require to be successful, he is subject to criticism and analysis regardless of his age or prior achievement.

This is true.

However, players like Duggan and Yeo and Sheed have made some howlers the last few weeks that draw very little comment, but would result in multiple pages of posts if Priddis were to commit a similar blue. I get it, he's old and bad now. It just gets monotonous and I'd like to find a new guy to trash just for the sake of keeping us interested.

It's time. He is well down on previous years.

Statistically he's going OK, but he's not having an impact and is a liability running the other way.

Statistically Masten is also having a good year, and he's in the WAFL.

Obviously his form has dramatically declined this season, but I was still a bit surprised to see him only accumulate 17 touches, his lowest total since 2013.

Not much, frankly. He's been poor for at least 2-3 matches now. The biggest point in his favour is that most of the players at East Perth are bad too.
And yet we have a player in Partington that isnt bad.

Kicks goals as well as dominates possessions and has pace.

We can do without priddis. Nothing is holding him in the side now except Simpson.

There is no excuse or reason for him to play.

All players make mistakes.
Those players you mentioned make mistakes.

But these players you mentioned don't have every other liability that priddis has and they impact the game more often than not.

They do get commented on, the difference is though it's an ongoing problem for Priddis. Most of his kicks are just blind kicks forward or like others tonight have pointed out that kick i50 when he was all on his own, the closest opponent was maybe 15- 20 meters away and he still couldn't hit a target. This isn't a continuous problem for the 3 players you mentioned. It's all warranted criticism. And we don't know what these "bad players" at EP are like in his position because he's a protected species.

Sorry Prid, you have been very very good the past few years and have helped our club through the dark times (also we went to the same high school so there's that) but you're done mate. Retire.

I have commented a bit on Duggan's poor ball drop, Sheed however is a nice kick, an attacking player (may have had one grubber) but the thing is ....

Imagine a scenario where a ball is cleared long to space, Player X is 30m off for the eagles and player Y is 35m off for the opposition.

In that scenario, if player X = Sheed / Duggan = Possibly win the footy, worst case scenario a ground ball battle for the hard ball, maybe knocked out of bounds.

If player X = Priddis, player Y takes ball cleanly and runs off to hit a target under no pressure.

If Priddis is dominating the stoppages (at his best he was better than Sydney's JK I think at getting hands on a ball from nowhere) then these sorts of things aren't as big a problem, or are less likely to even occur due to him feeding the ball to our players and us having clean possession. He was very good/amazing at very little, now he doesn't have a positive attribute to bring to the team.

Him playing FP/HFF isn't his fault, it's Simpson's idea, so I don't blame him for that as if he elected to go there.

Congratulations Ilkka, you are the last remaining Pridda devotee. Please turn the lights off when you go.

I've never trashed him and never will, but even blind freddie can see our list is stale and Pridda as well as a few more need to go so we can try a few younger players and perhaps move a few around to try to freshen our list up. Priddis has been a great servant, loyal as they come and a Brownlow Medallist, but that doesn't give him a free pass in the twilight of his career..when it's time it's time.
