An article off the ABC website about how Patrick Dangerfield has been a prolific Brownlow vote better had some graphs listing the top ten vote getters over various periods in recent times.

One much discussed former Eagles player figures quite prominently alongside the likes on Martin, Ablett, Fyfe, Judd etc.

I was a huge defender of priddis until his final season when I could start to see his defencies after others on here pointed them out. The fact we didnt even miss a beat when he left made me realise he was great at what he did, but was overall a very limited player. I view players like Tom Mitchell and even Patrick Cripps as being similar, they can win the ball inside but rely on others to do something with it. Have too many of them and they become defensive liabilities fast

I love what he gave to the club, even if he was limited by his athleticism and probably played on a little too long. From memory he did have a pretty good finals series in 2017, though.

Made the GF in 2015 off the back of his midfield work.

Hate seeing him slated...still...after the service he gave to the club.
Yes and no. I believe he held us back from becoming an elite side through the middle, but he didn't pick himself nor his central role to the side. He put his heart and soul into every game for the club and that should be respected.

Great servant to the club, but I didn't and still don't consider him a 'great' player.

So?

Plenty of players have been great servants without being great players?

I don’t get it.

He played a lot of good footy for our club, consistently, through good times and bad.

Deserves at the very least respect I think.

He played many a game as the only mid, the opposition had to worry about.

Many years in maybe the worst midfield, this clubs ever had on a park, he didn’t have much help.

Definite grafter.
Im not a huge priddis hater but the fact that both Gaff and Shuey both copped tags in 2013/14 says something. Gaff was a second/third year wingmen and Shuey was very similar. I distinctly remember the calls by the buggies wanting those two traded back then.

Sure, I said as much. I respect how hard he tried every time he played.

I shouldn't have posted in this thread, my thoughts have been made clear enough before. Exeunt.

In retirement, I’d like to think that Matt Priddis wears a tuxedo T-shirt because it says “I like to be formal, but I’m here to party”

I don't think Pridda could be tagged. He was amazing in close and was incredibly strong. Wasn't exactly quick, so didn't hurt you much around the ground.

Peak Priddis was a very good player, Simmo got the best out of him in '14 and '15 especially and had him playing to his strengths. His kicking also improved, so I don't know what we were doing previously to that.

That Priddis would fit in nicely with our current team. It's not his fault that we had a terrible midfield for years, with zero pace.

Pottering probably spent the majority of his time on this board in the Priddis thread, now here he is years later still flying the flag for Matt.

He's not obsessed though, just a fan.

I'm curious, can we also see the 3, 5 and 10 year period graphs?
