The idea that any Hawthorn supporter thinks Priddis was more deserving than Lewis just vindicates my thread last week, Hawthorn Goo_ squad have no love for Lewis.
Yet you flogs have lots of goo for a bloke who dogged it in both Finals this year.

Go figure.

Boyd used to Poll well also, was 5th in 2010 and 3rd in 2011, but yes can't kick for peanuts.

Umpires were definitely trolling by giving Dangerfield all of Sloanes hard earned votes. Some players are umpires pets, if Danger, Cotchin or Hannebery ever put in a solid season-long performance and not have any month long form slumps they'd take Charlie home one of these days
The irony is, Priddis would have just been another close-call runner up like Boyd if it wasn't for the suspensions against Fyfe (only lost by 1 vote, so if he never got suspended for those 2 or 3 games, would have been eligible and easily made up the ground on Priddis), and also the injury to GAJ (the dude was only 4 votes off winning still, and clearly would have won in a canter if he didn't have the injury).

Don't get me wrong, it's always a good effort to poll 26 votes in a Brownlow Medal count, but it was also the absolute perfect storm for him to win it too. He's pulled a MAJOR Bradbury here!

Meh suspended players go close regularly, the fact they were suspended means they are ineligible so using them to a point in your argument is silly.

Chris Grant and Corey McKernan actually polled the most votes but didn't win, Stevie J got 25 last year 3 behind Gaz but missed 4 games with 3 of them being suspensions, Sam Mitchell got 30 the year Swanny won it and finished 4 votes behind him.

Gazza has lost 2 Brownlows now due to injuries imo, in 2008 he missed 4 games (with a hammy?) and Cooney got him by 2 votes (Simon Black came 2nd as well) and this year obviously with only 15 games played.

Absolute farce. Proof the only thing the umpires really pay attention to is how often a player touches the ball and not what they do with it.

Sorry West Coasters, I like you guys but anyone could name several dozen AFL players more valuable than Matt Priddis right now.
If that was even half the case Rockcliff would have had 40 votes minimum

Yep he should've got a couple more tbh. Dangerfield could be tagged all day, barely manage 20 possies, kick a flukey goal and still get votes....... Oh wait he did multiple times at Sloanes expense.

Rockcliff averages: 9 tackles, 5 marks, 33 disposals a match.
Had over 30 touches 12 times (5 being 40+) Really screwed up how he only got 15 votes but didn't get 5*3's in those 5 40+ possession matches.

Umpires logic hhmmmm, I'm an umpire myself and you just get a feel for the game with who will get your votes, quite regularly a team will lose but their best midfielder always pops up and does the right things, puts his head over the ball etc and I reward them for effort with a vote or 2 if there has been no other standouts from the team who won.

Can you all shut up and enjoy highlights of the game's best player.
Wow that guy is a vegetable..

Who would have thought winning the brownlow would actually hurt a player's standing in the game.

I get the feeling Priddis will be in a world of hurt next year, he is going to be scrutinised like never before. No longer will his "35 m" bombs in the air be tolerated.
