Does anyone else get the feeling that there will be absolutely no fallout from this whole issue? The only person affected will be Rendell and everyone else will happily go back to the "everything is fine" AFL way of doing things.

Also isn't that fact that he has a performance clause in his contract based on the number of aboriginals playing AFL, racist. Clearly he would be doing everything he can to get more aboriginals into the AFL, rather them getting there on merit.

From the way he talked about the "right programmes" it seems he was offended because it was a slight against him and the job he is doing with current AFL programmes. And he was offended at the sterotyping in the context of the conversation.
If Rendell were articulate and careful with his words I doubt that he would have caused offence. Everybody can't be a word smith, PC, culturally aware and a recruiting officer all at the same time. Especially if the support and education required is not there to begin with.

Even when commenting on the situation later in the show with Krakouer, they almost insinuated the racist Rendell doesn't recruit indigenous players.

If anyone had a repeated history of true racism then they should be sacked but this is a very ugly, unjust situation.
