Matt Rendell was an AFL ruckman. A position often filled by BigMen.

Not really. Think about it. Wall-e has to give up Bigfooty because of a conflict of interest and yet the recruiting manager is on here.... :rolleyes:

Also Bigman was an Adelaide supporter in 2006 when Rendell was at St Kilda.

Anyone read Rucci's take on AFC's current recruting situation. Paints a really rosey picture but still don't see the point of the article in the first place.

Then in the Roast, for the second time this week he discussed Rendells "plan to screen players". Rendell made it clear that he was using the line to make a point, not that this is actuall policy. Rucci head is stuck so far up his..... that he can't tell $hit from clay.

It really appears like AFL house has had the same 1hr conversation with Rucci as it did with Caro...

Just when you think the issue has died, 2 anti Rendell articles in 1 week.

I am now very confused?

Is it possible to give us a clearer picture, without to many criptic clues and maintaining fairness/correctness/privacy etc?

From my understanding Wall-e has moved on from Bigfooty because he has a job with the AFC as a recruiter.... Which is fantastic news:thumbsu:

But a few others are trying to imply Bigman is Matt Rendell, which is pure BS. My point was if Wall-e had to give up Bigfooty bacause of a conflict of interest it is a bit strange the head of recruiting is on here. Also if you look at his join date he was at St Kilda. And I also added that he thinks we are all Footy dorks, which is probably true.
 
I'm happy to take your word for it Freddy - I believe you when y ou say you know Rendell personally so that's good enough for me.

But just because someone isn't supposed to do something.. doesn't mean they don't/won't ;)

Matt's gotten himself in trouble before for spilling information... no one said where ;)

Evidence for Bigman = Rendell
1) Bigman is knowledgeable about recuiting youngsters
2) Ruckmen = big men and Rendell is a big man
3) Bigman stopped posting time of the saga

Evidence against Bigman = Rendell
1) Bigman stopped posting time of the saga (why not post even more to drum up support?)
2) Freddy knows him and does not think it is the kind of thing he would do
3) I don't think it is the type of thing he would do (and I have my own reasons for thinking this I am not posting here)
4) it would have been unprofessional when he was at St Kilda to be a Crows fan. These guys are pros - they would not undermine their own club. Ever.
5) Rendell is very secretive about his drafts - he would never post here during draft time unless it was to throw in bad info

But look - you mods can end this here and now by doing IP traces of Bigman and seeing if it traces back to AFC. Rendell was hardly the type to know enough to cover his tracks.

Conspiracy theories are fine if there is evidence. So far there is just baloney here.

I said I believed him mate. No need to bring sandwich meats into it.

Such discussions can lead to interesting outcomes imo, but each to their own.
